1. Good points, Id imagine there are still tensions. I read recently that Francis thought the reunion tour wasn't exactly to his liking and that Lancaster / Coghlan weren't quite up to it. Btw Alan's frailty is due to a severe allergic to a hair dye.
2. I enjoyed it - especially hearing Alan Lancaster and John Coghlan . I'm sure there wouldn't have been any shortage of celebs willing to take part ., Jimmy Lea looked a bit like Roy Orbison.
3. Trouble was brewing when we arrived, with some not entirely sober chaps ,who seemed to have an issue with the local constabulary. I'd say it's best not get aggressive ,shout, swear, threaten and push a Policeman, because when his colleagues arrive with a van, you'll end up cuffed,in the back of it. Pretty good gig, one of the actors from Gregory's Girl had a couple of drinkies at the bar. Afterwards a young lady correctly identified me as the bass player, and had been admiring my moves and that she was rather attracted to me. Her boyfriend confirmed this to be the case, and kindly offered to help me with my gear.

6. Oh,why did i have to look at this, again Gorgeous and oozes a barrowload of character. I really am annoying myself about how envious I am. I do love your phrase about about being blessed, made me smile . Karma restored.
Here's mine. Such a lovely bass. I'm feeling blessed to have it.
7.
Donny, You win some you lose some. On this VERY rare occasion, I lucked out. Don't worry, karma will ensure that I lose out big time at some point in the near future.
I'm only extremely jealous !- It really does look look a cracker & certainly worth a visit to Boness. Let the good karma continue
8. I hit the forward button pretty quick. As I did for just about everything except Boy George and The Killers. I did persevere all the way through Jimmy Webb and Justin Currie. It was tough.
9. Well done, just a wee bit miffed to be honest as its just along the road from me! Green eyed monster alert! Well spotted and warmest congratulations, honest!
10. What's not to like? Presumably comes at a price?
11. Playing bass with fingers rather than a pick.. Olives and stinky cheese.
12. Boom-tish!
13. Gumtree, as a job lot? Stick them in the Freebie section?
14. I've had mine from new and probably didn't appreciate how good it is until fairly recently. It is my favourite bass, it sounds, looks and feels " right " to me. I'm not actually 100% convinced by all the hype though. My affection ,Im sure, is very much due to having it,( her , in fact), for so long and having been through a lot together. Played acoustically it sounds great, very resonant, amplified it got a nice woody tone. Interestingly it's not universally appreciated, the drummer has advised me that it's his least liked of my basses. Like his opinion counts! There are pics in the porny section somewhere I wouldn't say no to a JV Jazz to keep it company!
15. Yip , same. Still have a chuckle!
16. A little something like this....... http://youtu.be/HAQ95Vln4I4
17. ...... that's true, but even if they're a bit hesitant you could still take& play & have a blast!! I took it a pub gig and managed to raise, well, nothing...
18. No such thing back in black and white days. However, I do know from younguns that things aren't good. Nothing wrong with having value instruments, but, surely they should be ,at the very least, be reasonably set up ? No doubt inspired by " Cool Uncle Rock and Roll", nephews and god daughter have taken up bass at school and I've lent them a bass for practice/ill fated band projects. Guess what? Having something playable helped, a lot. And I eventually got the bass back!
19. It worked! - I voted and enjoyed having a listen to them all
20. For God's sake,compose yourselves!!!
21.
Looks like an E, A, D and G to me :-p
I had an out-loud chuckle..., and a wee snort! Funny and informative.
I had a set of Ernie Ball strings with blue silk. Use a micrometer to determine the string gauge. That might help someone tell you what they are.
I recently replaced strings that looked pretty much the same, and had been on a bass for , I think, more than 20 years - pretty sure they were Ernie Balls
22. To quote the great Elwood P Dowd " I've wrestled with reality for 35 years Doctor, and Im happy to report I eventually won out over it"
23. Just normal.
24. Eh, no. But I Know what you mean.
