I've had interesting experiences on Gumtree, including meeting a nice chap off the overnight bus from London in Glasgow , so that he could buy a £200 bass. It all went well and was a bit of an adventure, and was based 100% on trust. I would suggest you speak with the seller and that way you'll be better able to suss it out. Good luck!

The Squier VMTelecaster bass is 32 inch scale, and is very good! There were a couple for sale on here a while back for what I thought were giveaway prices. Bought new they are very good value.

The decsription has been changed to SB600 now. And that's what it looks like. The uncertainty would've been avoided if they'd stuck a "SB 600/700/900/1000" or whatever on them - but where's the fun in that!

How's the hand?

Played a belter on Friday i was a bit apprehensive as we hadn't rehearsed properly for a while. Pub gig we hadn't played before. Right from the start the drummer was on fire,loved it did a few requests we hadn't played for a long time. Punters were loving the Official Bass Player Pork Pie Hat, getting pictures taken with it. Place was mobbed and loving life. Afterwards, the guitarist says he's fed up and wants to jack it in after we've played our last gig this year.That'll be the gig that's almost 30 years to the day that we had our first gig!! I'm in shock to be honest,feels a bit like your wife/ partner has told you that after many years of what you thought was a rock solid relationship that they're out! It was a great gig though!

Now that is good - I'm a bit of a Troublemaker and with with Mr T , it is as you say a great combo.

I'm going through a " my life is not truly complete without at trying /having one at least for a while" phase. There's one for sale fairly close by for £200, But,I need to get rid of something to get the cash for it. I could, I suppose exploit my good looks and, sell my body for sexual purposes. But it'd take ages to get that kind of money Ah well.

Squier Classic Vibe Jazz bass. White & Tort. I keep reading folks raving about them, in a positive way , and feel that my life may not be complete without one. I even went to a music shop to try one but there weren't any in stock. " No, I don't want to try the Squier Vintage Modified Jazz instead, thanks all the same". I'm not a complete idiot, and it's not giving me GAS, well not yet. Do I need one - of course not!

I agree that Tort & sunburst & darkwood is the business, not with maple ( and I love a maple neck I do ). I don't like any of the red/tort/maple/darkwood shown above. So I'm out on the red/tort combo. I also think Jazz basses look better with darkwood and Precisions better with maple.
