1. Look who it is with the Relay Bass ...........
2. Remember this - Rhino is , and therefore Quo are, proud supporters of the Basschat Bass Relay . He got involved at Falkirk Stadium a few weeks ago - see the pics!!! If you've missed it check out the pinned Relay thread.
3.
Fender Cabronita Precision Bass:
I must say i rather like the look of that.
4. I see! It's a logistical operation right enough. Emma says yes no problem to use Rhino pics
5. James,it does seem to be going rather well.maybe there should be a Rocky I,II,III etc! There weren't any stickers or cables with it when it was on it's holidays so I'm afraid I'm no help there .
6. I agree - when i spoke to Emma before she didn't seem too precious about how the pics were going to be used and was happy to help out.
7.
It's not about the format but about the characteristics of the publication(s) in question. End of thread derailment! If anyone knows Emma in person and can contact her on my behalf and speed up the process I'd be grateful
I've left Emma a voice message and sent a text,( I even went to her studio but it is appointment only) and she's on holiday for another week. I really don't think she would have an issue , one of her pics with Rhino & me was used in the Local paper and credited to Emma. She was the Event Photographer for the Rock the Stadium weekend and as I understand it did it as a favour rather than a fee. If the release is ready to go I'd be tempted to send it , I'll take the blame if there's any issues. I'd reckon just send it to as many as possible , even the high brows as it has actually been played at a Proms in an orchestra and everything Oh and maybe also Guitar and Bass magazine?
8. Great stuff , I think the Pete Wind Orchestra doing Rocky is brilliant. I'm sure Emma the photographer will be sound with using her pic ( if she's credited), w why wouldn't she?

10.
Well, we raised a total of £338.96 ( including gift aid ) so really pleased. It was an orchestral concert at Haddon Hall, billed as Proms in the Gardens. The MC announced that normally I play Double Bass but for the next number I would be playing a special bass and introduced the BC Bass Relay. The orchestra played the Theme Tune to Rocky and we raised the money in 3 minutes that it took to play the piece ! Really fun as we used a coal bucket and anyone from the audience who wanted to donate had to rush up and put money in the pot whilst the song was playing ! Got good coverage on the local radio and will be on BBC radio Derby next week and in the papers ...just looking for the next BC'er now to come and take part. Sorry Jim ...looks like you are going to have to reset the target as we have now smashed the £1,000 mark !
Absolutely fantastic, that is class in a glass. Loving the variety. Love to see some pics if possible or any clips. I'm guessing it was lovely weather? Dead proud btw!
11.
...the bass is clearly a 'babe magnet' ....come on BC'ers who's next ?!!
It certainly is - that should generate interest , surely C'mon spill the beans about yesterday!
12. Posted on the pics thread but probably best here Bass and hat were popular - good idea to get pic with The Relay Bass After gig count up, drink & log book combo The bass after being signed by Rhino - ready for action!!!
13. In advance of it appearing at Proms in the Gardens in Derbyshire , here's a few more from it's holidays ; Popular with the ladies - so was The Bass and The Hat ... - " Get your Picture taken here, oh & make a donation!" Callendar Arms Falkirk 22/6/13 My artistic( I think) shot of post gig drink , counting up donations & writing in the log book. The now signed bass , Smiths, Kirkintilloch 5/7/13.edit - maybe I should put this on the main thread?
14.
Ok so the bass is now on its way back in Derbyshire ! Looking for the next bass player to carry the batten in the Relay. Its really easy as a concept, you just pick up the bass, do a gig and have a whip round for Cancer Research and then pass the bass on to the next person. Its that easy! Great that Quo's bass player Rhino Edwards got involved a week or so ago at Falkirk Stadium , he is apparently having words with Pino to get involved !! I am doing my bit on Saturday at Proms in the Garden event at Haddon Hall ( what a contrast to Falkirk ) and the bass is in Derbyshire ready for the next leg of the relay from 14th July onwards . Have got to say that I have really enjoyed meeting fellow bassists and sharing the experience - feels really great to be involved and be raising funds for such a great cause ! If everyone on Bass Chat chipped in just £1 ...that would make a lot of money ! Simple challenge :- click to a different thread now or click on the Just Giving link below and donate £1. Theres a Map of Honour which tracks where the bass has been and its journey plus Facebook , and Twitter feeds ( see the links below). If nothing else help spread the good word !
Great idea - how do we make it happen? It'd be great if more of us got involved - it's not hard, it's fun and it's for a great cause. And it's a Bass! And it's "The BC Bass Relay". Good luck for today - throw some shapes!! Thanks for all your help
15. As an aside It'll be good if he get's involved in the Bass Relay
16. It's going well, excellent! for the record the sun is shining here in Falkirk, actually true. just a thought but if the Relay threads were pinned would that help raise awareness / involvement?
17. Another satisfied regular customer - bought Gerry's TC Electronic cab - he offered to meet me at the house I was undertaking a transaction at (selling my big & heavy Peavey Pro) to fund the purchase - got it at a good price and he also threw in a speakon lead. As always a pleasure to deal with and to chat too - even though he's from Paisley!!

19. I've always liked Andy's Free stuff. Not familar with stuff after that. I'm sure he wrote stuff with/for Frankie Miller. Did Andy have to deny reports that he was dead a few years ago?
20. True ,again. It was good though.
21. Now that is a proper Dad joke! As for the Germans!!!!
22. The bass player from Texas.
23. True but to be fair , given the audience barely reached double figures, they weren't asked.
24. Eh, not a great success, fund raising wise. The total remains the same.
25. Nice one, and in very good condition.
