I think it looks rather splendid, & I suspect excellent quality.
Just a bit of fun to see how big I can get a map Ok that might work , it would need a list to follow with detail of the participants but there should be enough space to put some numbers/letters to index to the list on a route . I would need to update the picture as and when , and please excuse the iffy example above but it might work as long as the entire BC community doesnt join in, but if they do, it could be done region by region
I'm a bit late to this one ,but map needs some amendment - Scotland isn't independant -yet . just had a read through this and see that there is some Scottish interest. I'm in but we don't have any gigs confirmed right at the moment. there's a posiibbility of us playing in "the" pub right in the middle of Glencoe , not sure for certain, but that would be a pretty spectacular location - I'd try not to massacre it - me being a Campbell 'n'all....
Has to me "Mess Around" with the late (no small wonder) John Candy. CB
Of course....... wish I'd thought of that one - great film too - " these aren't pillows!!!!' in the bedroom scene

Anything that makes you drum on the steering wheel is bound to be safer than attempting air guitar/bass, for example. Excessive air stick twirling/drummer at the wrong gig moves , or using the accelarator as the bass drum pedal, may be less safe though...

Agree with all that's been said above, I didn't realise he was such a character, I thought he was mr clean cut spangly suit....

Here it is with the close family..... Got it fairly recently and am very pleased with it- good quality and finish - doesn't feel short-scale. Body is sized for bass. It can shift some air - on the humbucker it's a bit scary!!!
+1 Gretsch are gorgeous things
Agreed, never had one but think are indeed very pretty. Saw an exquisite orange one recently, and I got a warm fuzzy feeling.

Video - Awesome band, bassist and my God, the bass face!
Donnyboy replied to wateroftyne's topic in General Discussion
Bit fancy pants for me ,normally, but I did really dig it,man. I think Bassface should team up with Drummer at Wrong Gig!! -
Shop doesn't exist - its now a takeaway! I think think the owner got some promotional stuff and flogged it to teenagers at a profit ! How's about that then! For the record , I've never had a deep fried mars bar ! What kiind of Scotsman am I? Anything else deep fried is ok ! Especially haggis , pizza, black pudding and fish ( no skin) and haddock of course.
Definitely........... He could use it to keep his trousers up
not big enough, I'd reckon.. is he still kicking about? thanks for the replies - I don't think I got anything in writing though - buyer beware . my pal got the same strap and his is still fine - b***erd - he's got 5 mandolins so he could maybe recycle it!!!

You can't trust anyone it would seem.... I mean to say , I bought this quality leather (Aria) leather strap about 30 years ago , as I remember for a fiver, and was assured that it would last me a lifetime . Now look what's happened !!! Think I should seek compo?

FENDER, Japanese Vintage Series Porn , JV Serial Numbers...
Donnyboy replied to Rick's Fine '52's topic in Gear Gallery
It's JV75786 - you probably can't read it but it's on a wee sticker on the end of the box & here on the neckplate - what kind of anorak . I particulary like the handwritten description in big black letters!! It also has in small writing, " Hold Donald Campbell", that's me that is! -

Here 's a pic of the original packaging - do I need a new anorak ? it's been in cupboards etc since I got it - not sure why i kept it actually. Don't recall any tags , leaflets or accessories coming with it though -
also : Simon Kirk / Andy Fraser - Free Alan Lancaster/ John Coghlan - original Status Quo Gerry McAvoy/ Ted McKenna - Rory Gallagher Band
Dave and Mick... from... Chas and Dave. It shouldn't be true, but it is.
Yeah , good call, " Give it some stick Mick!"

Frankie F'in' Miller .... That's who!! - variable output at times- some over-produced '80's nonsense , but the Once in a Blue Moon album is to me ,classic. Much under-rated & maybe best known for Darlin' - cheesey but good http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=ILMvUhEjXAI Here he is with " Mr Rory Gallagher!!!" Complete with swagger & bottle of wine!!!

I did like it, good band.

Just bought this of ebay, have i made a mistake?
Donnyboy replied to Elvis Valentine's topic in Bass Guitars
no idea about fixing it, but it 's very good looking - seller seems to be upfront as well. My experience of epiphones is that they are very well made & underrated. this one might be fine without fixing it -
I tried it out next to a Geddy Lee and an active Mex Jazz and it was way hotter, a bit thicker sounding and much more growly. It has a more piano'ey character too imho.
Good review - looks the business- it's black alright!!!

Where's the pics then?
are there any super bands with poor bass players? id imagine they're all quite well off im here all week
I've just read through all of the contributions on this , some interesting discussion going on , but the above has got to be the best reply. Took me a minute to get it though - I'm a bit slow... -
If Santa played the bass he would play a . . . .

"Red P. White Scratch. Maple board. Easy."
Exactly. And the red colour has to be the same as used by Coca-Cola, since "Santa Claus" as we know him in modern commercial Christmas and holiday adverts is based on the original 1931 Coca-cola marketing campaign: http://www.adbranch....laus-1931-1949/
Definately- don't think anything else would be appropriate. would tinsel hanging from the headstock, or a stuck on big red nose be too much? -
