1.
I know what you mean. I've seen VW Camper vans in this sort of colour
Maybe not exotic , but.... Close????
  2. Nice - I particulary like the blue/green/grey etc one - the colour does remind me of a old car - an old american '50's style that should have lots of chrome 'n'stuff.... . Move over Jeremy Clarkson!!
  3.
From a faraway land called the '80's - Aria SB600 with someone I barely recognise as myself!!
Eventually took some up to date pictures!!! SB 600 bolt-on neck dtes from 1979 Hope this works - here's a letter from Gigsville re the bass - I think I wrote to them as i was unsure what i had ......
  4. Here's some pics of my '57 Squier P re-issue- bought in march 1985 from Cambridge rock ( mail order) for £149. Neck plate dates it to October 1983, i believe. Some wear & tear , but it's my favourite & a keeper !!! Well it would be after all we've been through!! Apart from a few string changes & set-ups, it 's as it came out of the box. It also feels pretty light.
  5.
I actually play for a professional Country Music band. You can be assured however, I would never ever wear a shirt like that!!
Ehm, I actually quite like that shirt!
  6.
Damn, been looking for a Jap Fender Precision... I may well have had this but I can't stand fiesta red Good luck with the sale
Don't like Fiesta Red, what's not to like?!
  7.
That is class
Yeah, love this sales pitch " nothing special"... Is the £29 bass still there?
  8.
If the made in japan is stamped into the neck plate (assuming its a bolt on neck) then it's probably from the matsumoku factory and a very nice bit of kit. They were distributed with a billion different names on them, so brand name is largely not so important with japanese stuff.
Yip, who needs a name. Looks like a quality bass. Result!
  9. The fancy Wilkinsons are the boys, however the more recent MIM ones , according to my man in the know , are pretty spot on - and it's not in his interests to say so !!!
  10.
As used by Alan Lancaster of the Quo in the 70's.
Yeh, it looked too big for him! I thought his sound went real downhill when he stopped using his Mustangs- became very harsh & didn't blend well when he went to Kramer & Tarvis Bean- in my opinion of course!! I liked & still do like the old Quo sound- don't like change ..... boomtish. Nice looking bass though & different.
  11. Ignore it and report it as suspicious
  12.
= Alex Salmond = Chanter (d'amour, rat-tat-tat tat-tat)
Thanks to Big Stu, our Political Editor, now back to the studio....
  13. Much as I like scantily clad, in a tasteful way, ladies, I think the tattoo is a cheapi stick-on. Would get rid- unless I was a 1950's teenager...fire -up that time machine, Doc.
  14. I think the old neck dive is over rated - it's manageable - no problem!!!
  15.
Sounds like an excellent adventure! You shouldn't marry your elderly uncle!
I think it was a comment along these lines that started the commotion!! Or rather, " Next you'll have brothers and sisters getting married" He was in the Navy you know... More bonkers adventures I say!! Perth is such a nice City.Used to play in a pub called The Mallard- it was well lively.
  16. http://www.corvoleather.com/clearance-corner-c-99.html?zenid=64juf0bjh4ao1md4bha1l593b1 I'd recommend one of these - good quality - felt lined is wearing in nicely. Excellent service & very fast standard( free) delivery - think I got it next day there's plenty of other tasty stuff there too - but i do like a bargain!!!!

    Low morale?
As it's not bass-related, Off Topic is what it is - which is a reflection of wider society. It's not a necessary forum for the continuation of the good things that BC does for sure, but if it were to go then BC would be a far less interesting place, IMHO. I think Bilbo does a great job, for what it's worth - OT shouldn't be rigorously policed. It's there for 'talking crap, really...' and God knows I'm sure most would agree that I talk enough crap in it! I've said this many times before, and I'll say it again: If you don't like Off Topic and it upsets or irritates you for any reason, DON'T GO IN THERE! It's very simple isn't it, surely?
I'd agree with this I only recently ventured into OT & maybe I,m selectively but haven't really witnessed a lot of what has been referred to, although to me it seems like a healthy mix of serious stuff ( eg depression) , random ramblings , dogs, cats and vascetomies. And of course Jaguargate was sosososo enthralling, full of wit, jibes, lies & insults . It's my youngest daughter's 21st birthday today - don't know if I'm happy or sad - how did that happen???
  18.
LOL not just you - believe this non-drinker who's seen it all
Too true - as an aside we had a do for my daughter's 21st on Saturday and the only 2 non-drinkers( my elderly uncle and not so elderly mother-in-law) had a massive barny about gay marriage!
  19. Nice one - better than most blokes stories that go a little like -" fancy a pint " & then get pissed, end up fighting/having man-hugs.Or is that just me!!!
  20. Gumtree is meant to be local/ face to face, no BS. If it's not, be suspicious . I've had really good experience both buying and selling from and to genuine people. D
  21.
Those replacement Schaller M4S tuners look so out of place and gigantic with reference to the headstock shape/size. There would have been banjo tuners (buttons at the back of the headstock) on this initially. Something a bit smaller (like a Gotoh GB7 size) would have been so much better, but I suppose it depends on when the mod was made.
I do like it but also agree with this. Cheers big ears!
  22.
Nice looking set up there - love how its colour coordinated too
Yes I was rather taken with that- surely that's not sunlight illuminating the basses
  23.
I'd agree with all the Lynott lovers - just born to do it, and the quintessential rock star, but for a different take, how about the hugely underated band with a criminally underated songwriter/singer/bass player. Del Amitri - fantastic live : Justin Currie - still touring, and a consumate musician/writer.
Yes agreed - don;t know why JC didn;t come to mind? Great sideburns too!!
