I do like a pork pie style hat - worn at a jaunty angle . A compliment was " the bassist loooked cool as f..k- like one of the Fun Loving Cannibals" We played an outdoor thing last year and had to follow a band dressed up in various costumes - drummer's verdict " We were outstaged by Mr Incredible" by & large wear what your comfortable in - I've got a hankering for a tartan suit!! But i'll prob keep doing the jeans & shirt.

Bought this last year from Jezzaboy. It's approximately 1 year old, is in very good condition and has rarely been used - looks good on the stand though!! Includes a padded gigbag which was difficult to find due to unique size/shape of bass & cost £45- again barely used. Anyhow, Transluescent black - very cool, all black hard ware, active pickups, slim, contoured & and lightweight body. Through-neck construction with slim easy to play neck. Additional strap button fitted to address any neck dive issues. 4 knobs -vol, treble, bass & pickup pan. Looks & sounds the business.Bass has been professionally set up/serviced. Get on trend & look like the Kings of Leon Bassman("biggest band on the planet") with a black Tbird - ignore this if you think they're crap £230 . Would prefer if it could be seen /played/picked up, but not essential if buyer is willing to arrange courier. I'm in the market for a black Fender Jazz-preferably with maple neck- if you've got one we could maybe arrange something. Any questions get in touch.
Very cool Donnyboy. The band we played with at the weekend had a bassist with a JV Squier & it was lovely
: Why thank you - I think it's cool too!! Thing is very few others agree referring , somewhat unkindly, to "that pink thing" What to they know?

I'll add this '83 Squier '57 Fiesta red. Had it since new , some wear & tear issues , but not too bad considering....

I had a Lyte ,very playable , wearable & sounded great. Didn't find it weedy at all . It's a bit rare/different & I think suits having the original parts - including the bling gold hardware. I'd suggest having a good go before doing anything rash - it does have it's own identity.

2 guitar playing pals got together to strum some chords , another pal's dad had an ancient "drum kit" - snare & bass drum with hi-hat. " If you buy a bass Donny, we can form a band & get rockin'!! " £5 saved from my paper round & one short scale no-name bannana necked untunable bass later, we were ready to rock!!! Well, we already had long hair & flaired jeans. I seem to remember that in the absence of any amps we went through an old radoigram speaker . Once we managed to get some old beat up & cheap amplification( probably now much sought after), loud was important. Our attempts at some classic rock numbers were ,looking back probably laughable, but we were right into it

Aria's have been mentioned a couple of times - my SB 600 is the heaviest I've experienced - played in for years as a younger man. It's an Ash or Alder body I believe Idon't know it's weight as I'm in denial about my own weight( short & ahem, stocky ) & don't own scales - I could take it to Boot's I suppose & stick it on the height/weight/bodymass thing. I've got back & shoulder probs-don't think related to playing a big heavy bass though.
And something else begs the question "Why going through all that trouble to mimic a classic design and not make the headstock in the telecaster fashion?" It looks like a bit of a bodged effort to me, doesn't it?
Agreed- seems a bit of a cheat. wouldn't it be better to package it as something else or new - perhaps it's like one of these dodgy film remakes that are described as a " re-imagining"

I really like the backstory to basses/guitars ,Rory gallagher Strat and all that. Interesting to hear about the action being high - I presume intentionally so? I remember reading an interview with Alan Lancaster, the original Status Quo bassist ,who said that in the '70's he set his action really high when playing live - can't remember why he did it but I thought it a bit bonkers! Was Dee Dee in the habit of handing out his basses? Are there others kicking about?
Great bass indeed, just a tad on the heavy side for me, Here is the full history of the bass whilst in my possession, if you are interested. Yes a bit heavy but solid - bit strange that to help finance i sold a Precision Lyte!( to a basschatter btw)
Not as heavy as my Aria SB 600 - that is a beast! Don't want hijack this topic but here's a recent pic

yip - pretty sure it will be - lollar pickup? Clarky had the silverware on , but although I like the look I've taken it off as it " felt funny" especially when playing with a pick. great bass!!
