Interesting reading this - I've done the same thing trying to put on new machine heads. Even with 2 of the 4 screws broken the plate seems pretty stable. I think Ill just leave alone although it does look a bit sh*tty.

I don't play very much these days - maybe a handful of times a year - so I'm glad just to get out. Within reasonable limits I've always enjoyed playing sh*teholes & rough joints. I mostly found them quite entertaining , but never liked getting threatened. I always seemed to attract slightly "eccentric" people but now have got better at avoiding eye contact. I'm probably not alone in having swung a bass in the direction of unwanted attention?

Like. But not sure if that's what he's looking for.

Aria SB600 ( with bolt-on neck) bought from original owner in late 1982 or early 1983.This pretty much lives in a cupboard. 34 years Then I bought a new Squier JV Precision in early 1985.This is my favourite and most used. 32 years. These were the only 2 basses ( excluding a couple of electro - acoustics ) I had or wanted until I joined Basschat.

Not too sure to be honest. I quiet like a cover over the bridge but not the pickup. I've made a bit of an are of making the pickup cavity bigger to accommodate the Seymour Duncan so the cover might go on to cover it🤔🙄

Inspired by this thread - I stole the painting the pickguard idea from Discreet, who also gave me some advice on best way to do it. Here it is. I've tinted the neck to honey it a bit. I've also added a decal Also changed the tuners to Wilkinsons & a KiOgon wiring kit will be installed also a Seymour Duncan PB3. The body is away getting sprayed black, so we'll see how that goes

Recently got a wiring kit for my Harley Benton PB50.... absolute pleasure to deal with John, a total gentleman. 100% agree with all the comments about quality, speed, communication and helpfulness
I play pretty much an equal amount of plectrum & fingerstyle & have never felt the need to adjust my strap. I found a height that suited me for both & left it at that.
Yip same here.

Gumtree - Glasgow https://www.gumtree.com/p/guitar-instrument/bass-guitar-with-amp/1238124160 I think this might be worth getting - if nothing else to use the body for my Jazz with P neck idea that's been in my head for a while. Seller has also got a guitar & amp for £30 or £50 for the whole lot... bargain!
After 50 years of doing this, I always say go with the best person. The best guitar player could be the worse person for the band Blue
Makes a lot of sense to me
I've did it with my squier VM telecaster bass, the 70s style one with the big humbucker. I went the whole hog though with a vintage neck tint and darkened headstock face and old stle decal. I don't see any harm in it, I enjoy having it done - it's for me alone and there's no malice in it. I fancied a 70s style telebass to go with my 51RI so I had both TB models but I'd have to sell my 77 Jazz or my child to fund one. Did it cheap with the squier and the paintwork and some extra chrome. I like it. The question is now, do I go for a cream or parchment scratchplate or leave it black?
I think a change of plate would be a good move. I presume it's the sunburst Telecaster bass?
Blimey, so there is somebody else who has the album. I just haven't got a clue man! Me too

Absolute bestest version of Song to the Siren EVER on there. The second LP's worth a listen , too, although it doesn't seem to have the cheekiness of Gravelands.
Return to Splendour despite it's great title is rubbish compared with Gravelands.. I think the band ont Gravelands are really rockin'

Could anyone help with a rough valuation? Mexican Fender Jazz
Donnyboy replied to T-Bay's topic in Bass Guitars
I've got a MIM Jazz , that I have been meaning to sell but TBH also wasn't sure for how much . I've seen some advertised for not much less than a new one, and some for between £300- £400 and Squiers for not much less. I'd offer £300, but you'd be better having a look. I think the older MIMs ( pre- 2007?) go for a bit less than the newer upgraded ones. I was in Guitar Guitar recently and asked what they thought I should sell mine for ... £400 was suggested if in good condition. -
"Weltron" = made-up Scumtree bullsh!t. If they could be bothered doing some research they could far more effectively monetise this particular piece of £5 car boot tat: http://www.matsumoku...og_pg1.jpg.html
..makes it sound quite good .. although it does say long scale I thought it was a wee shorty. Good to see the catalogue .. makes me quite nostalgic, although I can't remember which version I had.
Fair enough! Note to self - do some research, and/or refrain from posting when tired and irate!
Made me chuckle , thanks for being tired and irate

Whatever it might be called I'm sure mine didn't have any identifying name on it. I can't remember how I got it, (probably someone who knew someone), but seem to recall it cost me £15 about 1980. This was a step up as my first bass cost me £5. It's just about possible , although unlikely, that this was mine as it's for sale in my town.
-
I think I had one of these many many years ago - I had no idea it was a Weltron , I thought it was no-name.- My memory tells me it might've not been a classic...
One's appeared on Gumtree in Glasgow just within the hour. I just sold my CV 50s Precision with a view to buying a Telecaster, but now I'm considering spending it on a Telecaster Bass.
I had a look at that after reading your post. I think it looks cracking and £200 asking price seems fair?
