1. Ha. I love the way everyone rallies to alleviate the collective GAS! Enjoy!
2. I've messaged the guy with the blonde P. :-)
3.
Steve James' is one of the best shops for customer service IMO, the second being Uncle Tony's in 'Boro, near the bus station (although I hear he moved) both run by musicians who care, almost to the point of only regarding the money side of going into their shops as a necessary inconvenience. Can you spot Steve here?
Back on tour soon too!
4.
Is this for sale on here ? Quite fancy a p for a change , only really played jazz's lately !
No he's in a local fb group called the North east Bass Bin. Should I send him a link to this page?
5. The neck on the '50s Classic and Road Worn is the same profile. Pocket on mine is tight.
6. I know someone who's selling a honey blonde Classic '50s P for around £500 for what it's worth.
7. thanks, they are very clean sounding; express the guitar very well indeed.
8. Selling on behalf of a good friend. Cared for Roland AC33 acoustic amp plus footswitch/looper. Used in home and mint condition. pics to follow very soon. Offers around £200 please. Based in NE England but will consider postage, pref, local meet/collection.
9. We must be just dead lucky up here in Boro 'cos every time I've been in to my local shop, Steve James, the staff are welcoming, the stock great, and the service impeccable. On the one occasion I've encountered arsey staff, in Red Dog Edinburgh, I vowed not to go back in.
10. Boxed with instructions and 9v battery. Functionally perfect and 9/10 condition. £23 posted in UK
11.
Sounds like an Ampeg SVT & an 8x10 at full tilt in a pub band context. . .
:-)
12. I met him once or twice at parties and have a giod friend who was his team mate for several years. It's no surprise; he's a collector. Guitars, beers, anything that appears to be a culrural artefact.
13. That's one busy website. Headache inducing just looking at it, never mind reading.
14. Hi. Bassist available here. Young 40 yr old (would fit in easily with younger line up). Some live experience and dead keen. Have own gear, transport and am flexible with hours. North Yorks/ Durham/ Cleveland Cheers. Cheers.
15. Bump for a great local bass.
16. Listening to early 'electric' Miles. c1968 Miles in the Sky. Bought the album in about 1996 and it was 2010 by the time I got my hands on a bass.
17. Why is the p&p so high? Surely he'd be better just putting big sticky label and stamp on!
18. As stated! £95 posted or collection/nearby pick up Teesside/N.Yorks area.
19. Immaculate. Tags but no box. £130 posted in UK mainland. Or collection, local del nr. Teesside, North Yorks. pics soon
20. Ha. Thanks for the responses BC. I had bought some last xmas (a potential cover there..) but ended up selling them on unwrapped. I reckon they'll be in the way and a single chrome one on a Fiesta red/gold pickguard bass won't look too clever. I play without a pick and use my palm and finger to mute.
21. I only ever play in one position on the P; near the pick up. Should I or not go for covers?
