1. I have the Fiesta red one. Bought it end of last year and only got around to playing it in anger last night. The neck is fantastic. I do love the sunburst one mind.
2.
that was just sh*te, tired old format, crap sound, average bands, just about as dull as it gets
pretty much sums it up.
3. Wow.
4.
Here's my American Vintage Reissue '57, Fullerton 1982, that I bought off here recently!
5. Trade for a mint CV Tele?
6.
is it sold then JJ?
we coulda gone halves Tom.
7. Shame.. you could've had both the mint p and j in my sig for it... :-)
8. The necks are gorgeous. I bought my '50s MIM on the basis of the same neck profile. Bump on me.
9. This is actually my dream bass. Damn.
10. joanna bolme.
11.
congratulations, sounds like it went to exactly the right fella!
+1 Well done mate!
12. Soundslive are good like for things like this.
13.
By strange coincidence, I found an envelope stuffed into my letterbox this morning. It contained a transcript of some off-mike dialogue during the most recent U2 recording session. .
i just laughd out loud in the library. Thank you.
14.
Colin Greenwood is pretty ace. I rate him pretty highly. I just think he's outshined by his brother!
I like Alex James' lines. I think Colin (& Johnny) Greenwood are ace too. Joanna Bolme is fantastsic. I'm no old crusty and having been to a thousand jazz gigs where ultra competent players convey zero message I'm more than happy to listen to a good bassist that's works within the context their band are striving for. I don't see it as a generational thing or one of 'modernity'; some 70s bands exhibited similar characteristics to what folk are arguing about on here. Personally, I'm no Jaco fan; self indulgent w***.
15.
I'm happy for you too stick Osman et al in the bog-standard box but I disagree about James. The lines he wrote for “She’s so High”, “Bang”, plus the intro motif for “There’s No Other Way” and “Tracey Jacks”; these are all very well thought out lines. Not Clayton style root note run-of-the-mill at all. James was playing bass well before Blur too, so that drifted-into-it-by-accident notion is cobblers too.
thank you, my thoughts too...
16. I like Blur. Fair dos it wasn't the most polished of performances. What I'd really like to know tho is who here thinks Alex James is a good bass player? Obviously within the context of the whole indie/pop/rock genre, he must be considered somewhat better than his peers.
17. ok cheers. I'll need a couple of days to think about this. Cheers Tony
18. hi, has this sold? I'm in Teesside and may be interested. Cheers
19. Hi. You have PM!
