Hi. Forgive my ignorance but are you able to run this as 'preamp' into a MAG300 15? Or bypass the head part of the Mag combo? Sorry if this is complete madness.

I would if it was there! I'm aware of having one on my old phone. But it's not showing now.

My lad's just got the PS. The sound is massive. Maybe not as 'defined' as a P, but huge nonetheless. Finish is superb on it.

I've been listening to Savages. It'll be a while before I get anywhere near that sound.

He's never been spoilt like some and has worked really hard for his guitar grades as well as his gigging successes. He's getting quite the reputation locally. He was playing on a Squier VM Jag SS which he's keeping. To be honest, we've had a very lean three years as a family; it's nice now that he's able to pick up on our better fortunes.

Juat listening to him now. Playing everything between James Jamerson and RAtM. It sounds as 'big' as a P but I think the humbucker prevents it from having that clarity of tone that you get with a split coil. It may be in my head. It does sound great. He reckons it's v comfortable; I ain't been allowed near it yet!

So, my parents take their grandson shopping in Newcastle at Guitar Guitar. He come away with this, his "dream bass", for an early birthday present. I used to get Our Price vouchers... He's going into the recording studio soon with his band so he'll be buzzing.

I have a few ECMs with him featuring heavily. The Lloyd recordings for the label are beautiful. The Water is Wide has some special playing by Brad Mehldau (who i love anyway). I recently picked up the latest Wasilewski trio recording as well as Tomasz Stanko's newest with his American band. Think i prefer his playing with the aforementioned Polish trio tho.

JPJ Jazz? Or is it basically out there already in standard incarnation?
