  1. Another wedding close to home and miraculously another broken limiter πŸ™ Overall a good night, the highlight being a pissed up woman hovering over our equipment with a large full glass of wine. When I asked her to keep drinks away from the stage she proceeded to straight up down the glass πŸ˜‚ fair enough... Used my rocky bass after my wife complained I don't use it enough after she took the time to paint it!
  2. Only had a few months but not getting on with it so moving it on, can post
  3. Trying to keep all my shoddy work in a self contained thread! Unfortunately I got too hasty with the recent refin and ended up damaging the paintwork in a way that was not cosmetically pleasing Decided to totally change direction and somehow ended up with this
  4. Both great 🀟
  5. My plan to get it out of storage for photos were put on hold by a very angry teething baby but I'll have some time to tomorrow morning before work πŸ‘
  6. I had to modify the neck pocket to accommodate the different scale length. Can't remember if I put any shim in underneath to be honest! When I do I tend to be very sparing with it and let the truss rod and bridge do the bulk of the work. Plays great πŸ‘
  7. Kinda testing the water here as I'm not 100% sure if I'm ready to part ways with it The body is from a Westfield brand thunderbird, the neck from a Harley Benton jazz. All hardware is decent quality and the pickups are the emg tom araya set. Reason for the possible sale is it weighs a fair bit compared to my jazz basses and for 2-3 hour wedding gigs it's not ideal. Comes with a very well padded Ritter thunderbird gigbag. I'll get some proper photos taken if there's any interest, the image I've used is just cropped from my band's Instagram page
  8. Never tried air brushing but I've hand painted several basses with acrylics! There's enough black, reds and sunbursts out there - go nuts!
  9. Second for GZRs, I just put some in a heavy lump of Chinese plywood eBay parts build and the whole thing sounds incredible
  10. Another in the collection just finished The pink bass suffered some unfortunate mold after being stored in a garage over a quiet period, the cleaning lifted more paint than I would have liked giving it a very unnatural 'relic' look. So decided to strip back and paint over During the process I came into possession of a p body that fit the neck perfectly so I decided to get a new one for the j from eBay off a Harley Benton lefty
  11. Everything came up Milhouse tonight Venue 5 minute drive from my house Repeat customer and a great crowd And most importantly their limiter was broken so no sound issues!
  12. Depends on the chorus pedal itself, blend options etc! You might be interested in the boss dimension c (or tc electronic dimension chorus), they add in different layers of chorus. Great for guitar but the lack of blend really sucks the low end out for bass in my experience Hope this helps!
  13. Need to get my hands on a bully sticker asap!
  14. If you made it home with money in your pocket and your gear safe and sound, a win is a win!
  15. Requesting VAR for this! Can this be classed as a board? Great pedals though 😁
  16. I love that this just happened amongst the warm talk about this community πŸ˜‚
  17. Some people can't rise above their ego unfortunately! I'm having the same problem with my current band. The drummer is passionate and professional, we dissect every gig and practice on the drive home for the purpose of continuous improvement, egos removed. Yet the singer and guitarist get their knickers in a twist and take any suggestion as a personal attack. Very frustrating and I hope you find a group that respects your commitment to the craft 🀟
  18. Picked up a "used condition" p bass body on eBay for the hefty sum of Β£20, combined with a jazz neck I had in the garage, hardware from my junk box and some emg gzr used off Amazon - presenting the bullseye bass because yes, they are air gun wounds, including a souvenir pellet still wedged in?! That's one way to relic I guess!
  19. You don't need one however having a decent url on your business card (if on those types of circuits) does lend an air of professionalism. I'd say we get 10 gigs through Instagram for every 1 off our website but it's still worthwhile to have if you treat your band as a business! Hope this helps πŸ‘
  20. I've text him to see if he's interested πŸ‘
  21. Have you still got these? A colleague of mine may be interested
