  1. I will take a punt on the Amazon one and feedback The guitar version I had years ago was surprisingly well made on a headless from "shengze guitars" which was a bit of an impulse buy and also because I kept knocking drinks over on my studio desk I had at the time, solved the problem!
  2. I couldn't see one on Amazon but eBay has them https://ebay.us/m/DHroEN Catchy name too
  3. So I recently won a beautiful washburn taurus t24 with a slight blemish on the headstock as you can see. My plan is to put in a set of my favourite emg j set pickups with the tko switch as is tradition. My question is in the year of our (over)lord(of music( 2025 - what is the go-to budget bridge? I'm currently leaning towards this type as I had a pleasant experience with the guitar version a few years ago on a headless guitar I absolutely regret selling! https://www.amazon.co.uk/SMZhomeone-Travel-Bridge-Professional-Headless/dp/B0D92GXQX8/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?crid=2HTWCP1ETGICZ&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.f5jwXg9cdybqVolytNQZSZgftMvACVAOF7pz1CWE5Z2mrls-aaLp72HK9s6fKUGGzQvZDIeWiiE87PrAlR5db6GmE1fWrsK-KPJG6LEYPGeBNOE733OGIC1QB0wI7PAc-qyonJk0fy4O7EL6mzfOi2w_22GRKkF4hpmdUR5LikJKzyqm6ZEcKtQmQq4gZ-QnnbhWT5PCzCimUlgQNvmMqw.VQaeQPr524V86iACZYuv_aPYKxUYt7msCniYIbAqvQY&dib_tag=se&keywords=headless+bass+bridge&qid=1760036757&sprefix=headless+bass+bri%2Caps%2C105&sr=8-3 But I am interested to hear what else is out there
  4. It's actually surprisingly easy! The pain is removing the old covering and leftover adhesive gunk! Cheap heat gun and a scraper and you're in business.
  5. Trying to put a positive light for a fellow BCer mate
  6. If nobody turns up, you're getting paid to practice 👍
  7. The gig itself was a bit shit - private event in a posh garden, lovely surroundings but it was cold and rainy so we played most of it to an empty garden occasionally punctuated by their kids doing cartwheels However I did get to use my newly contoured and painted custom bass which felt much nicer
  8. Have you thought about emigrating?
  9. Finally made some progress today after a bit of a hiatus New guards cut and pickup on the way, going to go for a single p bass (in p90 form) in the bridge position
  10. Make an import line, you coward! 👀
  11. Last call for this before it gets parted out on fleabay
  12. Looks absolutely stunning. Always love the look of these modern iterations, burny/esp, indie, retrovibe etc I get all the spiel about protecting his brand and all that but an import ric would sell like crack. I guess he just doesn't like money! And cue the flames
  13. Turned out pretty good for free hand, but I will clean up the curves and add the bevel on the spindle sander next time I visit my folks Also the placeholder cheapo pickups I had in my spares box are total junk..
  14. Neolithics were total hacks
  15. Music is music, as long as you don't drop words without their respective pass
  16. Been looking for this! If it's not gone by end of the month (pay day) I'll happily relieve you of it 😁
  17. Both routes done and pickguard drawn on tracing paper, going to attempt cutting it with a Dremel 😱
  18. First pickup route done, just needs a bit of tweaking. Just used a drill and chisel for this as it's a simple shape for the soapbar
  19. Now selling as a husk without the pickups - £150
  20. Bridge fitted, still haven't found an emg for the right price
  21. Is there any scope for you to steer the sound? As a spotty teen I was roped into an indie band and ended up pushing us towards a more groove oriented sound which really pushed us forward (I was kicked out a year later and replaced by a guitarist who was given a bass) 😂
  22. Nope just leaving it as is, headstock will be gloss black
  23. Neck fit check, nice and snug
  24. A few coats of poly lacquer! On the lookout for an emg soapbar/mm/tb pickup 🤔
  25. Not as dramatic but I'm happy with the contrast 👍
