It's perfectly normal to have a few butterflies, it just means you care! It sounds like a wonderful endeavour what you are doing so I would expect the audience to be in good spirits and supportive - go out there and make the most of it! Or answer b - Guinness

Thank you! I'll have a go

Bit of a long shot but has anyone used the various cheap preamps available on eBay/Amazon? Bought one with good reviews but it came with no wiring diagram so I am at a loss!

From an original music stand point does it really matter? Streaming has already ended the album/single sales business model. There is money to be made with touring/merch/interactive services like patreon etc that bands are turning to of they want to pursue music as a career. There is however catastrophic consequences for SFX/Foley artists, background music etc. These industries will go the way of graphic design as studios will always value profits over people Even in my day job working in manufacturing I see more and more ai tools coming in to replace various roles, admin/planning etc It's sad to see but the monkey is out of the bottle now!

How was Your rehearsal last morning or night ?
Gank Bass replied to nilorius's topic in General Discussion
First week back after a 2 month break due to holidays and other commitments! Felt good to play again as I've not had the time at home to pick my bass up mostly due to my daughter learning to walk (10 months 🙃) Everyone got on well and had learnt the required material, very enjoyable -
What are you listening to right now?

Other than learning songs for gigs, for the last 3/4 months on my journeys I have been listening exclusively to the Blindboy Podcast - incredibly varied, interesting and entertaining human being -
Beware of the foamy grip material on cheap hangers, it can perish in a short space of time and get very stubborn gunk stuck to the necks! Unfortunately speaking from experience

Will the bassist be required to stand too close to the back of the singer whilst blinking aggressively? 🤭

Tone worms??

Looks very cool, not tried this but have owned and used several ashdowns and only has positive experiences. Treat. Yo. Self.

First bass was a Peavey millennium bxp 5 string, totally inappropriate for a learner but I have fond rose tinted memories. Through my Laney RB9 with a fan that sounded like a Chinook taking off. Go to bass is a Chinese bitsa that has been repainted in every colour, currently sporting beige floral nursing home wallpaper. It weighs absolutely nothing and sounds superb with emg jx pickups "Your bass" probably same as above or it's pink Hawaiian painted sibling

We were regulars at a well known bar in Nottingham who's identity I will hide for their own privacy (let's just call them O'Meills Mirish Mar) Great rapport with the staff, free drinks and all that good stuff, feedback from the regulars saying how much busier it gets when we are billed. New manager takes over then a new resident DJ who's clearly good friends with him (zero flash or talent just sticking a playlist on) He took at immediate dislike to us for whatever reason, getting to the point where we'd be booked and he would have got their early and put tables and chairs on the stage or blocked it with his equipment boxes, stealing a set list of the stage and proceeding to play every song before we go on, walking on stage and trying to turn amps down. Just a weird unpleasant experience. We tried speaking to the manager but it "wasn't his problem" so we ended up putting them on our own blacklist I try not to judge as everyone has their own problems under their iceberg but you sir are a cock

I think what he means is he's struggling to dial in the sound that's in his head. Using well known pedals with distinct sounds is a quick shorthand way to describe the desired sound rather than straight up copying I love my stomp but I also have struggled to get a thick fuzz tone but I'm sure there are plenty out there on YouTube etc that have found the knack 👍

+1 for pro steels, they last a good while too
-
+1 for this, had it for a long time before downsizing to hx stomp, incredibly responsive and purple which is always key
-
Has he had a fall?
-
I'd take either 🤦♂️

If you've got a good internal metronome you'll be fine regardless but I do not 😂 so having a little LED or light circle really helped! I've had a few over the years and they have all held value so it's worth picking one up to experiment as you're likely to get your money back through a sale

All great options with not much between them but having a visual loop indicator is a huge benefit!
-
Thanks Kiwi, after seeing his previous antics I think I'll just leave it

A friend is building me a body which happens to be a shape favoured by Lemmy, Geddy & Squires but for a bolt on ibanez talman neck Would photos of the progress be too contentious for Mr Hall?

Intrigued to know what else you're using the stomp for! 🤔 Sounds like something is plugged in the wrong input? Could you post some photos of your setup to help diagnose?

Just a few cable management improvements thanks to a hole saw and Amazon's wide range of cables!
