1.
You might have been better off with the older version Conan, which would probably have cost more! Lol
What is the difference? What did they change?
 2.
the NX2 is a very balanced cab compared to many. If you put sucked mids in, you will get sucked mids out.
Maybe... but I couldn't get any "mid-mids" at all from it. Even with the BD121 switched off, the neck pickup on my J soloed and my bass graphic showing a very sad face!! IMO, it was the cab that sucked the mids from the area where I want them, but it added some in to an area that I don't want! Yes, everyone's ears are different - but to mine the NX2 was rather lacking in midrange. But as I say, it's not my problem any more!
 3.
Thats cool, sometimes it takes trying out something else to realise what you had to start with is what you really wanted anyway!
Ain't that the truth!
 4.
Glad you've managed to move your cab on.... what are you thinking of getting next?
See my sig... Or if you can't - I've gone back to my Compact, which I never actually quite sold.... it's a complicated story!
 5.
has anyone had the experience of using something different with a compact, such as the Shroeder 12L, for sale on here? does it mix ok?
There is also a Compact for sale, at around the same price as the Schroeders. That should mix ok... As xgsxj said - only you can judge if a certain mixture of cabs works for you. Doesn't really matter what anyone else thinks!
 6.
anyone in need of an entire new rig could do alot worse for the money than a ShuttleMax12.2 and a pair of NX2s.
That's a heck of a rig!!! What kind of gigs do you play?
 7.
But people here would know... and not sure using the morals of a shop lifter is that great a stance either...
Not sure what you're trying to say here... The number of members of this site that get actively involved in discussion threads is small compared to the overall number of members. So yes, some people here would know. Still not sure it's any of their business. Some people join BC purely to sell stuff. Do you question their motives? And the shop-lifter was just a silly example. But you knew that, didn't you? Anyway, it is no longer my problem. My short-lived and rather disappointing (ad)venture into Genz Benz cab ownership is over.
 8.
just trying to find a solution to your fiscal/moral dilemma, 410 £299!
It's a work in progress! And my days of using 4x10s are over I'm afraid! Until we start employing roadies that is...
 9.
If you buy new I suspect you'll only be able to get a Gen3, if you look around second hand, try to find a Gen2 in my opinion
Sorry - in-joke between Pinball and myself!
 10.
Could we now class the NX2-212 as a rare collectors item now !!
I like your thinking!
 11.
bass direct half cheap prices. http://www.bassdirec...enz_Offers.html
No mention of the NX2-212t. Must have sold out - mostly thanks to us lot!
 12.

I know that reminded me of something...
 13.
So, valuing yours at £300 I am actually being generous in my calculation given what you paid for it.
Er... no you're not. What I paid for it is immaterial. Anyone who has not been following this thread may be unaware that these cabs have been available at such a good price for such a short time. Maybe more will become available at that price, maybe they won't. If I was a shoplifter and got it for nothing, would I be expected to give it away for nothing? Of course not (or so I assume, being unfamiliar with the "rules" of the criminal classes...). Should people who bought company shares at rock-bottom be expected to sell them on for the same price? Again, that would seem logically flawed. As you (and others) have said, the market dictates prices. But "the market" is made up of individuals, who all have individual wants, opinions and needs. I love the "community" feel of Basschat, but at the same time, why should I shoot myself in the foot and undervalue something just so other people feel better about it? Anyway, I may be looking to trade it for something else locally so all this may be academic
 14.
One thing I would say is if you dont like it move it on,lifes too short
Very sensible advice!
 15.
Haven't looked at the Hartke LH models, but if it can bring down aircraft then that sounds quite promising too
Nobody would ever describe the LH500 as being weedy or underpowered, believe me! And the LH1000 is just insane! Lots of bang for your buck - especially when buying a used one. But if you prefer new, bear in mind that they come "naked" as it were, and you will need a rackcase or bag in which to mount it.
 16.
Ive got to the point where as long as I can hear something behind me im happy, id use an ashdown rig again if someone else provided it at every gig, I used a trace commando combo for a few gigs that the singer provided to save me taking mine. Im lazy
I wish I could get there too! I'm certainly not a gear-head, but I do like to sound good, even if it is only to myself. I definitely prefer playing when I like my tone. I think it makes me play better too and I just feel more "involved". That should (hopefully) have the knock-on effect of making the band sound better, so it's a win/win situation! I don't want people to get the impression that I am dissing these cabs. They are very good cabs and would have been (at full price) beyond my financial means. I bought one as much out of speculation as anything, after reading a number of glowing reviews/comments on here. I was slightly disappointed by the screw-length thing, but that is very minor. For me, the tone I get through the NX2-212T is not what I was hoping for - but I was comparing it to a BF Compact, and that is not a fair or valid comparison (regardless of their RRPs). Another bass player ran a vintage Fender P through my rig on saturday and it sounded GREAT - a total mid-fest!! So maybe that is the solution.... keep the cab and buy a P bass!!
 17. Yeah. So these "bargains" may only be so to the people who dig their sounds...
 18.
Personally I think you'd get £300. That is what I would pay, for a used but as new cabinet that retails at £380. It doesn't matter what it used to retail at.
Ah, but it doesn't retail at £380 - not any more. It did for a while, but stocks at that price appear to be exhausted. If two of these cabs were up for sale, one was originally bought at £780 and one was bought at £380, what would each one be worth if they were of a similar age and condition? The same (as they are the same cab) or different prices because of what the seller paid for them? I think there is an ethical element to that.
 19.
Im not sure how anyone will sell them for more than they paid, they are not on special offer and going back up to £780 after, they are discontinued end of line stock. Id say 3/4 of whatever the fender branded ones retail for will be the most anyone will get for a mint one, that could be £600 if the fender ones are £800 but fender might sell them for £400 yet or not make any at all, who knows?
Hmmmm. I'm not sure about this, and it raises all kinds of moral and ethical questions. True, we don't know what the plans are for this model or even this brand. But there are people on here who paid nearly £800 for one of these cabs (before the discounts came through). What if they want to sell their cabs at some point in the future? Should there selling price be dictated by a short-term discount that no longer applies? Those of us who were organised/wealthy/opportunistic/stupid enough to take advantage of the GAK/Bass Direct deals though. If we sell our cabs on, what would be an appropriate price? What we paid for them (minus a bit for wear and tear)? Full price minus wear and tear? A compromise between the two values? At the end of the day, is that any business of anybody else? It is an awkward one.
 20.
Gutted I missed the Neox212 at £379. Anyone want to sell on I'll take it off your hands....
Ahhh... but at what price?!?
 21.
G1 - 15 inch speaker, plastic corners G2 - as g1 but lighter (revised bracing) metal corners, G3 - redesigned. all New drivers 12 inches, new smaller box design, New handles, feet and grilles
That's my understanding too, although I'm fairly sure that there were some other alterations/updates made "on the hoof" as it were - particularly between G1 and G2. I also think that one speakon input is "standard" but an extra one can be added as an option.
 22.
No....sell it. I'd love an S12, S12T or S15. I must thank Alex for releasing the 3rd Generation cabs making a number of superb 2nd generation cabs available at a price that those on a modest income, like myself, can afford
Hear hear!!
 23. How about staying with the brand and trying a Hartke LH amp? 500 or 1000 depending on how much you want to bring down aircraft... Beautifully clear and powerful, and made to go with your speaker cabs. Cheap too! Can't go wrong IMO. They often come up used on here...
