Immaculate condition. Been in a fitted padded cover since it was bought. No dings, scratches or anything of that sort. Looks brand new. This one has two speakon sockets and the silver grille cloth, so it would cost £590 new (without the shipping). Buying mine will allow you to avoid the waiting times though It also has the (very cool) white piping between the plywood and the silver grille. Not sure this shows up very well in the pics (especially the one with the cover on) Fully run-in, but has never been pushed hard. Mega-light (12kg = 27lbs), mega-loud - and with a great tone too. You know the spec... http://barefacedbass...hp?page=compact More pics available on request, but I am having problems uploading more than two... I'm looking for £450 ono.
This is a big hint. Check GAK's website for the Genz NX2 212T.
Wow! I'm not actually looking for another cab, but that is mighty tempting!
Plenty of those about lately it is a shame too say anyway GLWTS
Cheers. It's bloody annoying to say the least! Good manners cost nothing. If you are no longer interested in buying something, just say so! It's not as if my original post is short on details... It may be a buyer's market at the moment, but that is no reason for (potential) buyers to be lazy and rude
I'm now thinking of looking for Warwick alternatives! Anyone know of any similar sounding basses? I'm specifically looking for that growly tone that the Wicks produce
How about a Spector? And not just because I am (half-heartedly!) trying to sell one.... If you want to have a bit of an experiment but not spend much cash, I've had good results with these before: http://www.guitarfetish.com/GFS-Bass-Guitar-Pickups_c_97.html

Have all the expensive basses been a waste of time?
If you enjoy the instruments that you play then how much you spent on them is largely irrelevant.
This! -

The value of buying an instrument from a shop
Conan replied to ubassman's topic in General Discussion
when I want to check out rare & exotic (or just plain old expensive) basses I don't go to a shop ... I go to Basschat.
Ooohh.... so basschat is responsible for the death of the music retail shop? I wondered why I was feeling guilty today... -
Er.... what is "funk bounce"?
Hey Conan.I have a 75 reissue American that I don't play bit like yourself with the Spector that I might be interested in a trade. Only in the early stages of thinking about a trade. Thoughts?
Yes, I could well be interested mate! Where are you based? Do you have any pics available?
If the current cab's too big, why not just get a smaller Barfaced cab & keep the GB?
My Compact certainly does any pub gigs that I'm ever likely to play. And yes, it is quite a bit smaller than an S12, but probably not that much lighter. It's a buyer's market for gear at the moment, so not a good time to sell anything.
-
Keep your current rig. It is a very good one! You won't get anything that's much better (or lighter). Different maybe, but not better.

The value of buying an instrument from a shop
Conan replied to ubassman's topic in General Discussion
After spending a good couple of hours in Bass NW I had a really good idea of the basses that I thought were right for me ( narrowed it down to about 4 !!) . Cant imagine getting the measure of instruments any other way.
And that is a service that we should (in an ideal world) be prepared to pay a premium for. -
The value of buying an instrument from a shop
Sometimes you have to ask yourself how much you want music shops to be there for when you want them. If the answer to that is "never", then go ahead and buy everything online, but don't moan when you want a music shop and they have all closed down!

Equally, there is an onus on the shops to provide a service. They may not be able to match the online music-warehouses for price, but that is only part of the experience of buying something. That is where a decent shop can really make itself valuable to its customers. If they can't be bothered to do that, then they deserve to fall by the wayside IMO.

What's going on with this indent thing?!?!
