1. Other than for height, do you really need another cab? A compact with around 250 watts going through it is pretty loud...
 2. Oh right! Blue Coyote it morphed into I think... I might just pop along to that gig!
 3. That sounds a monster set!! Right up my street. Where's Hoochie Coochie? Their website seems to omit that detail...
 4.

Brilliant! Wish I knew how to do that...
 5. Interesting! How do the JVs and JVXs compare with the older J-set?
 6.
A low offer, to me, has to be several hundred pounds below my asking price.
Not if the item in question is priced at, say, £3500. An offer of £3000 may well be accepted depending on the condition, age, reason for sale, etc. As stated earlier, I generally think that less than 50% of the asking price is a low-ball. But it depends on the asking price!
 7.
There's something to be said for buying your first bass new, if you buy second hand you wont know if it has any issues or a good set up.
Sadly that can also apply to new basses - especially in this price bracket. Buying from here is what I'd recommend. Go for a seller with lots of positive feedback and a good reputation. Ask them lots of questions. You'll end up with far better quality and less chance of a lemon that you would if you bought new. An example of the type of thing I mean... http://basschat.co.u...ore-p-bass-l40/ although the lack of a postage option may make this particular bass unsuitable. You don't state your location, but the fact that you quote a price range in Euros implies that you are not in mainland UK!
 8.
Who could refuse such an offer!?
I know. It's a wonder we are still in business! Oh, wait - we're not. Tomorrow night folks - be there or be elsewhere.
 9.
The resale doesn't look good either and could be an issue if i don't like it.
That's a fair point - although if you bought one second hand this could work to your advantage...
 10.
When I really want to listen to a piece of music I get the headphones out ...they allow me to get swallowed up in the music, for it to be everything, to make my spine tingle and my heart melt. That matters to me.
That is what music is for IMO. One can over-analyse these things!
 11.
Neilyoung has anew. Systemcalled. Pono saw him do a interview about it. Google it. Like. Analogue better. A I have avalve hi first setup.
12. If I was in the market for a bass like that I would want a lot more info than that advert gives... Good luck to him. If there is someone around who is prepared to pay £1500 for the bass, then it is "worth" £1500! If not, it could be for sale for quite a while...
 13.
would buying both from the same manufacturer be the best bet?
Not always possible! For example Barefaced don't make amps (yet) and Thunderfunk don't make cabs (to my knowledge). But there are plenty that do both if that is what you want. Some people prefer the look of a "matched" set up whereas others like to have a mix and match rig. It's your money so buy what YOU like the look and sound of. Bear in mind that some size and colour combinations do not quite work though...
 14. Stack 'em vertically - then the badges look right! And when you get the other two, stack 'em on top. Use stepladders to adjust your amp.
 15.
i think the Lakland bridges look ugly.
Dunno - this one's quite pretty...
 16.
However, each manufacturer has their own formulation of Nitrocellulose. There are literally thousands of different variations of lacquer in use today, making it impossible to test them all.
Yes, but you can be pretty sure that Fender would be one of the manufacturers that they did test!
 17. I had a fretted Curbow 5 string and thought it was a well-built instrument that sounded good and was nice to play. They are cheap for what they are but do not feel cheap. I think the ebanol fretboard would work well as a fretless but have not tried one. If you can pick one up at a good price (they used to retail at around £500!) then I would go for it. Beware though that the tiny body looks very strange if you are a larger chap like myself...
 18. I think it's a great DVD. Some of the footage is also used on BTLS, but there is a lot of extra stuff on there too. As mentioned previously, the bonus material make the (modest) price of the disc worthwhile. Not as much fun as the "dinner at Saddle Peak Lodge" section though!
 19. A Fender P definitely sounds better on vinyl.
 20.
Suppose some people would rather an item hangs around for ages in the hope of making a few extra quid!
To be fair though, some people who are not desperate for an quick sale hang on to their items in the hope that the market will pick up a bit. No sign of that though... Most of us have a pretty fair idea of what an item is "worth" based on how much we paid for it, it's age and condition, desirability, etc. Selling is a complex interaction though and sometimes random factors combine to mean that we either accept a sale price way below what we hoped for or expected, withdraw the item or hang on in hope. It all depends on the individual circumstances of the seller, and it is their prerogative to accept of decline offers. As long as it is done politely of course.
 21. Always loved this one... definitely a bit of JJ in here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dQgUPxgqnfA Simple but with a great groove: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ieEvOvdr2Fg
 22.
For some reason I struggle to imagine dream theater without myung
Just stick an octaver on the guitar and nobody would notice the difference! Although obviously his charisma would be a big miss...
