1.
bass solo at 5.10!!

Bass solo at 4:36
Awesome line. But as he plays it the same as he does on the recorded version, does it still count as a "solo"? And yes, his fingers look to be even longer than Stanley Clarke's!
 2. Have you still got the envelope filter?
 3.
I bought a table from their furniture shop a few years ago.
How the mighty have fallen...
 4. I always quite fancied the singer... but then I was 14 in 1980
 5.
Every bass I've owned was perfect for one reason or another, but it just seems to be my nature to change my gear out periodically. If there's any correlation between price and perfection, I have a beaten up old Aria P-bass copy that (after hardware updates) still owes me less than £120 And it is perfect.
I'm similar in that respect. Despite having owned several basses that retail at well over £1000, the one I keep coming back to is my modified J&D "1975" Jazz bass. It cost £119 brand new, and the mods (MIM P bass bridge, Tonerider pickups, headstock sprayed surf green to match the body, Hipshot string tree and purple tort plate) adding less than £100. It just works for me, where every other instrument has had one (or more) irritating little foible that has caused me to leave it at home, or move it on. I don't think I'm particularly difficult to please, and I am becoming less sentimental about gear (whereas I used to get quite upset about selling or trading guitars!). I like to try as much gear as possible, but increasingly I am coming to realise that it's not about "best" once you reach a certain quality level, just what works for you
 6. Happy for you that you've found your dream bass.... but Jesus that's ugly!!
 7.
So did I, but something has to go to pay for the new Precision, and to make space for it. The T bird is a lovely bass, but I haven't gigged it much, still tend to reach for a Fender when going out.
Ha ha! And I've just got a Thunderbird, chiefly based on your recommendation!
 8.
I now have one too many basses, so there is a Gibson Thunderbird up for sale in the relevant part of the forum!
I thought the T-bird was a keeper?
 9.
... it's hoped we can come together and viola...
You have a strings section?!?!
 10. Having just completed a very easy and pleasant bass trade with Grae (his Thunderbird for my Geddy Lee Jazz and G&L M2000), I can vouch for his reliability, integrity and manners. Rare things these days! Excellent communications from start to finish, and the bass was received exactly as described. Highly recommended and a top guy to boot Thanks Grae and enjoy the basses (or good luck selling them on...).
 11. Don't suppose you'd sell it for cash now? PM incoming...
 12.
I love ravioli.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t-jK37C4CxA
 13. That's lovely, and seems to be (from the pic anyway) a pretty close copy. As a newcomer to the T-bird (in fact mine hasn't even arrived yet...) and a fan of Maruszczyk, I'll be watching this with interest!
 14.
Ah, man.. it's worth spending a couple of quid to watch it legit.
Have you got a link to the legit version? Edit - it's OK, I found it http://www.axs.tv/buy-axs-tv-programming-online/buy-the-big-interview-online/
 15.
'90's grunge rock' ala Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Stone Temple Pilots, Foo Fighters, Smashing Pumpkins etc.
Although the "grunge rock" genre might seem quite homogeneous if you are not used to it, all of those bands have quite different styles (and especially the bass players). I'm not sure there is one "grunge" sound that would work with all of these, but as others have already suggested, plenty of mids in your EQ will definitely help with making the bass heard - too bassy and it will turn to mud. Out of all that lot I would say that some of my favourite bass lines come from the Stone Temple Pilots. No idea what bass he uses though! Plush is an awesome track http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V5UOC0C0x8Q
 16.
Looks like a black ABM600 with creative knob titling to me...... And a second VU instead of a compressor
Ah, but at 666 watts!!
 17.
It's not like I hate the Jazz...
You are not Johnny, but I still claim my five pounds
 18. The are plenty of bass players who have no idea who he is - never mind band mates or audience members!
 19. I've just taken the plunge and bought (well, traded to be exact) a T-bird that looks just like the OP's. It should arrive tomorrow and I must say that I am ridiculously excited! They look utterly awesome, and I think (hope) that the sound and look will work really well in my current band. Reports to follow...
 20. With our tying to sound glib or obvious, can you not just turn your amp up?
 21. Ridiculously cheap for a quality piece of eighties memorabilia!
 22. Come to Daddy...
 23. PM incoming with regard to trade options...
 24. Lovely bass! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U9iVZwGLUn0
