1.
συγγνωμη για τα λαθη που εκανα i expain now in greek sorry i was in a hurry i think i ok now
Sorry! My comment wasn't aimed at you, but at tommorichards. I just thought it was a bit unfair to criticise the grammar of a guy posting in a language that is not his first...
 2.
I dont understand the sentence structure/grammar in step 3
Could you explain it more clearly in Greek?
 3.
I'm interested in that bass, and have been having trouble fingind it, do you know where I can find one of those? thanks
I got mine (in black) from Thomann... http://www.thomann.de/gb/cort_curbow_5mic.htm The list price is nearly £500! Great basses for the price - and especially at £170!!
 4. Mmmmmm. Interesting! I can't view those pics at work, but I'll have a look when I get home. Out of interest, what is the serial number? (Should be on the nut end where the headstock isn't).
 5.
maybe i was lucky and got the amp i like the sound of the best in the first place...
That sounds very likely! Lucky you!
 6. Maybe there is some way that the "Basschat logistics division" can help with this one? Anyone in the Falkirk/Stirling/Edinburgh area that could help move this cab down south a few miles? I could take it from north Northumberland down to, say, North Yorkshire... Just a thought as there seems to be interest in the South and Midlands, and I guess shipping for this beast would be pretty cost-prohibitive. Works for the Olympic torch!
 7. Surely it's worth listing on here too? How "early" is it? Mine is a 1986 and i have always lusted after a fretless matching partner for it...
 8.
Just noticed there's a lot of Ashdown gear up here... hopefully the offer of free bonus paint will sell mine first!
If you painted the cab itself, it would look a bit like the Trace cab that I am trying (unsuccessfully!) to sell!
 9.
Well, I live in the Netherlands. Ships would sink and planes would be VERY tailheavy, but i still think shipping this to pair it with its brother 1248H (4x12") and my orange bass terror would be worth the risk!
It already has casters. Simply fit an engine and you could drive it onto the ferry from North Shields to Ijmuiden! Some people only see problems....
 10.
Thanks conan. Hope your well. Hope your still enjoying the LH500.
Yes, and yes! Good luck with the sale mate - things seem a little slow on the for sale threads at the mo...
 11. Having seen the cab I can vouch that it is indeed in brilliant condition. Stuart is a lovely lad and a pleasure to deal with!
 12.
Was looking at one of these a while back but couldn't find a cab that could handle the power load that I could feasably transport.
BareFaced Big One?
 13. I find that that arriving at 'your' tone is more about eliminating what you don't like. What you're left with will probably be pretty close to what you were searching for...
 14. Absolute zero rules OK. Bass is just above that. Think "triple point" cool perhaps.
 15. If it wasn't, what would? And how much would it??
 16. Oooh, that brought back memories! Looks exactly the same as my old (bought in 1986) AH250. Lovely amp. Wish I'd never moved it on! Great price BTW. Incidentally, what is the output through the full range output? Does it develop the full 350 watts?
 17. What's the balance like on these Rick copies? Are they neck heavy with such a lightweight wood body (especially the basswood ones)?
 18.
I can almost guarantee that this thread will also now descend into another place to argue over this subject
Now there's a self-fulfilling prophesy if ever there was one!!
 19. I'm not sure I understand why this subject engenders such strong feelings. It's not as though there needs to be a "do you hate fretless/fingerstyle/pick playing/distortion/five string basses...?" poll is there? I like it in general terms, but there are times when it is inappropriate. Like any style, if it's done badly it's horrible. I do it now and then, but I don't see why I should feel embarrassed about it?
 20. Get an LH500/1000 while you are waiting!
 21.
Stove enamel steel grill under the cloth...
Yup. Built like the proverbial out-house this thing! You can hear it in the tone too. Warm, full but clean, powerful and as close to a 'full-range' sound as you will get out of a cab with only one size of driver in it. Go on - you know you want to!!
 22. Is it the same cab as this one? http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=127267
 23. Just out of interest, what on earth does it weigh?
 24.
One man's musical desert is another's musical dessert.
Brilliant!!! Mind if I use that in my sig?
 25.
It only gets lost in the mix if it's EQ'd badly, and it's popularity suggests that lots of people do like listening to it-just not particularly the 'fast chops for no reason' stuff, but even that has it's place.
Exactly. Despite saying earlier that I like slap - I bloody hate what that Tourette's guy was doing. Impressive for about 20 seconds maybe, and then you realise that he is simply pouting and preening like peacock on steroids... Compare that with some of the beautiful, lyrical slapped basslines from the "musical desert" of the 1980s (yes, I was there too!) by the likes of Abe Laboriel, Marcus Miller, Freddie Washington, Byron Miller, etc - and it's like saying that Jaco and John Deacon are the same because they both play with their fingers!! Wake up and smell the coffee guys. This is not about playing style, this is about some people being attention-seeking turds and others feeling the groove. And, of course, everything in between!
