1.
We all had to start somewhere but it does get a bit frustrating if they try to slap a Blues.
I dunno... it can work (if you call this blues): Starts at 3:15 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GOsPHjMJWCs

4.
Very nice but is it much better than the tribute version, sound wise?thanks
No idea - but it is a very good price for a US made L2500. I've not played one, but everything I've read suggests that the US versions are better all round than the Tributes. Whether those differences are worth around £600 depends on your own views I suppose. It's a nice colour though...
5. Interesting. The '84 Jazz pickup was designed to be a bit "dark" sounding - but the Thumper (at least the old Wizard one) was not particularly lacking in top end. Maybe they have changed the specs slightly... Still, sounds like a result
6. Gan doon darza wi' Borman! If only I had the funds then this piece of Tyneside memorabilia would be staying where it belongs
7. His suggestions being a bit meh... how about "Named by Jet"?

13.
One thought though - is there any way you could afford a real cheapie bass? - Just so's you've got something to dabble with, and keep your hand in, whilst you hopefully become more sorted financially? I've seen a couple of really kind gestures on this forum, where people literally give a bass away, to someone who can't afford one... Perhaps this is something we could sort out? A couple of "community basses" which get donated to players until they're able to afford their own? Once that happens, they then pass it on to another deserving player? - Just a thought
What a lovely idea!
14.
We are mostly all capable of talking rubbish with no cider. Not a very nice comment as far as I am concerned.
True - but taking into account the OP's financial situation, and the fact that he posted that comment at 5am - there may be extenuating circumstances... I hope so anyway.
15. Last year I had to sell two relatively expensive (to me anyway) basses in order to pay some bills. Fortunately I hung on to my two cheap ones (mainly because they would be worth so little that it wouldn't be worth selling them!). So I've not quite been in the OP's situation, but not too far off. It's not good Best of luck that things improve
16. Am I the only one that finds Corey Glover's voice wearing and tiresome after a couple of tracks?
17. That's lush! What does it weigh? It looks heavy...
18. It might be worth stating where you are based, and whether you are prepared to ship the bass...
19.
Or a dummy P set of covers fitted in place. everyone will think it's a cool J-P-J hybrid too!
Or one of these...
20. I played for ten years in a blues/fusion band using a Status series II. Graphite, active and headless. Not exactly traditional. But it worked fine. Just get the next bass based on what you want, rather than what you think will "fit"
21. A P bass with Jazz pickups, with a suitably-placed thumb-rest?
22. Form your own band, then you're in charge of how frequently you gig/rehearse. It can take a while of course, and be deeply frustrating - but if you want control over logistical stuff it could be the only way.
23.
Always preferred Muzz Skillings, lost interest in Living Colour after he left.
Me too... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1HbF3EAt3ck
