They last remarkably well, and after half an hour in some ethanol thay are as good as new again. You can do this three or four times before they start to deteriorate. I would never pay "full" price for bass strings now. When Howard the Bass Doc did some work on my Geddy Lee J a few weeks back, he commented on how much he liked the strings. Lovely gold silks too! Definitely worth a try!

Would have loved to see him in this (very brief) tour, but sadly all the venues were just too far. I hope he does it again, but with a more northerly slant - which, bearing in mind where he comes from shouldn't be hard! And I think Tall Ships and Map of the Past are brilliant albums! To be fair though, any band that FD leaves is never going to be the same.

Loved her first couple of albums, bought thought she became a bit anodyne after that. Must admit though, I stopped listening to her in about 1990 - so her more recent stuff may well be great! Think I'll go and do a bit of catching up... That video is bloody awesome. Mystery is still one of my all-time favourite soul tracks - lovely bass line too

Very nice (the sound and the playing)! I have Toneriders in my J&D jazz bass. Pretty good pickups for the price.

After trying a few, I settled on my Squier Matt Freeman sig. Not because I like Mr Freeman himself (in fact I'd never heard of him!) but because it just screams quality. And you could get three for the price of a used US P!

I tried it with a couple of Bergantino 210s. Easier than a 410, yes - but in the end I got tired of carrying around two cabs and went back to a lighter option. The vertical stacking option is great though, as long as the stage is solid and sturdy
