  1. I sold @Quatschmacher a shift line Olympic iiis and he paid as soon as he received it, I sent it before payment and he was incredibly trustworthy and honest 🙂
  2. I bought a special edition Hofner ignition, which is just a cheapo Hofner with some better bits from what I understand. I always wanted one but it sounds rubbish, I think all Hofner do unless you play them in a very very particular way, I still have it though because sometimes you need something that sound a bit rubbish
  3. I’m Lewis or GrandfatherGroove, I am however only in mid twenties the username just has a nice ring to it. I’ve been playing since I was 9 and got my degree 5 or so years ago in music. I mostly play Soul, Motown and funky sort of stuff and find myself mostly doing session stuff for other musicians (admittedly mostly amateur projects and I never charge, I think a high quality bass recording can really boost a project and I like helping out artists) If I had my say I’d to be part of a jazz trio but I doubt that will ever get off the ground in my area. I’m a bit of a nut as most of us are for pedals and effects, mostly compressors and preamps so if you’d like advice on either I’ve tried most.
  4. I was reading through some of the preamp pedals that one control offer, I’m interested in something that does cab sim and from the description in the website below, I think they do a sort of cab sim but wanted to get the opinion of those who use them. ”The CRIMSON RED BASS PREAMP allows us to relive the sounds of bass amplification before extreme clarity, thanks to 400W amps and tweeters, was a thing in the bass world. The CRB reproduces the sound similar to a single 15" or 18" setup.”
  5. I picked a Fuzzolo a couple months ago and figured I’d throw some appreciated for the pedal on here as my first post. i was on the hunt for a very small Brassmaster/ gated fuzz and all arrows pointed to the woolly mammoth or mastotron (as the apparently it has a blend function that suits bass well) but once I found out that the Fuzzolo has the same circuit as the woolly mammoth and a switch inside to make it bass friendly, I thought my prayers had been answered. They had, it’s an amazing pedal that sounds super buzzy and great for synthy tones, I truly love it. It does require some serious taming, I thought it was broke for days before I managed to get to play nicely with my bass but behind a OC-5 it sounds fabulous.
