  1. Just tried this, great tip, it works!!
  2. Sing it Back by Moloko might be fun to learn too, and v recognisable too
  3. Great suggestions above. The Skee-Lo track is a great shout! Chaka Khan too I love, and Feel Good too. Cheers
  4. Love this - thanks for the positivity.
  5. Thanks for everyone's comments so far. So far I have been playing along to the song itself (a DJ will likely put on the music i prepare for them). I originally put togehter a background music set (pop love songs set against Latin Grooves) but all folk seem to want in Glasgow is high energy, power hour evening sax! TBH, I am actually having more fun doing this as pickign out the bass lines and playing along on the bari feels great. Some great suggestions, esp like the Justin Timberlake track (great bass line) and the Jackson 5, Uptown Funk too. Was also thinking of Justice - D.A.N.C.E. Sabrina Carpenter - Espresso Thanks, Josh
  6. Hi everyone, I'm reaching out to bass players to get some advice / ideas. I am a baritone sax player and am putting together a set list for evening events, playing pop songs to get people dancing and in the mood. I have experimented with a few different things and have found my groove - playing along, and riffing against the bass part in pop songs. It really works IMO, as long as the pop song and bass line are catchy and groovy enough. So far I have the following songs: Sophie Ellis-Bextor - Murder on the Dance Floor Dua Lipa - Dance The Night Miles Cyrus - Flowers Charlie XCX - 360 Dua Lipa - Levitating (I find Dua Lipa songs to have excellent basslines!) Wondering if any bass players can suggest some (more modern) pop songs that folk will recognise and be able to dance along with, as well as be super fun for me to play along to. Cheers, Josh
