Total Watts

  1. Too big would depend on the Speaker. Flattest Delay or Critical damping for a live sound speaker can become incredible large. Rarely used for live sound equipment. Musicians want small boxes and high SPL. High SPL it is typical to reach distortion faster in too large of box. Critically damping boxes rarely seen even in home HiFi use. But high sensitivity systems for home use is likely a more logical use for them. Looks like the form factor of that speaker is tall and wide. So size appears Massive Less depth, depends on the driver. Might not be too big technically for what is in there. It sits higher to ear level and has a little slant. Good for hearing things on stage. When it is typical for " portable" sizes to sit to low on stage. Agree though somewhat for high SPL and a tall form factor, might as well be 4x12. Includes typical trade offs though of boxes too small for the speaker. Wider baffle can have its benefit in a world of little guys, and endless EQ to fix itsy bitsy baffle responses.
  2. Post EQ includes the amp tone controls. Pre like you said, a lot of glass to carry for a practically straight DI signal from the Bass
  3. Ironic Now This is exactly what I told people to expect 4 to 7 years. Those now older ClassD Ampegs have a rather strong reputation. Probably what ruined the company. They Sold to Yamaha. Clock is ticking to see what Yamaha has done with the new line. Labor time seems quick, by design really. Whole board out, new board in.
  4. If there really was wattage farmers, some of you collectors would be well Qualified 🚜 Over here in the states I remember seeing that panel glow the first time. Can imagine that club well and the band was actually good too.
  5. Hard to define what would be needed, depends on band drummer. Wattage not really a question, more about speaker. How many "500" watt heads is there these days? Likely what you will get. Its enough. More about speaker, and would say average will use 1x12 or 2x12 So start with one, add another if you cant keep up. 8 ohm cabs
  6. How is it with 2 guitars and loud drummer?
