Cheers! I have to be honest here - I recently lost my job, and am looking to sell a lovely bass that has been sitting around gathering dust for some time now (well, not literally, as it's obviously been in a case). I bought it when I had a record deal and they paid for everything, so I literally went into a big UK store and asked for a selection of the absolute best basses they had - with money being no object. I had previously had Musicman stingrays and was distinctly unimpressed by them, as every one I tried had dead notes all over the fretboard...plus I always found that the top string had a completely different, somewhat "twangy" tone compared with the others. Maybe this was intentional, but I gave up on stingrays in the end. I was even given the opportunity to visit the factory in Brighton, and choose a replacement, but they were all like that. Very strange, considering a good reputation they have. The one I chose from the shop was a Warwick Streamer LX Jazzman, and I have to say it is pretty much the perfect bass. Zero dead notes, no fret buzz, a huge range of tones, and very comfortable to play. It just seems a crime that it is sitting in the corner of my room, never seeing any action. Any advice on how to go about selling this, and what kind of price to pitch it at, would be very welcome. I have seen a huge range of prices online, ranging from £800 all the way up to £2500. It is in absolutely immaculate condition, having only been played a handful of times, and was bought around 2001. I don't have a hard case, and would not feel comfortable about shipping yet. Do you think that will be a problem?
