Here's a small update -- a pic of the neck blank. Bud has glued a book-matched laminate on the back of the headstock to match the wavey body.
The body itself is also glued up ready to be cut out this week.
Here's a reminder of what the back looks like:

Here are a couple more wood shots:
The front, not glued.
The accent stripe.
They'll all be sandwiched together this week.

Hello, folks --
I love seeing the progress on people's custom-builds, so here's my LeCompte ST-4.
It'll have a transparent blue, flamed maple top, black limba body, walnut accent stripe and stabilised bird's eye board.
Also on the list are Nordstrands (P/J), an Audere Z-mode 3-band, chrome Hipshot A and ultralites, with a five-piece maple neck.
You can see other examples at www.lecomptebass.com Click on the bass shapes to see pictures. Bud LeCompte is a maker near Houston, Texas.
Things have barely started yet but here are pics of the wood:

The back.
More to come as it happens. And if you think I'm being a flash git, check out his prices now there are almost two dollars to the pound.
