1.
I wonder whose music Louis Walsh and Simon Cowell listen to? Not the sh*t from their show obviously. Do they listen to music at all? Do they even like music? Edit: Looks like he stopped listening to music in 1975 http://www.bbc.co.uk...e3e1cc#p0093v6h
last i saw , C*****l must have attempted to auto-tune his face.
2. would this work in your scenario Ivan ? http://www.xotic.us/effects/x_blender/index.html

4.
Good shout phil.i.stein, I like it, just can't seem to find one now :-( don't suppose you still have yours and are willing to let it go?
sorry, i let mine go to a fellow BC'er as i needed the cash, but do regret it. the only warning i have is that it has a MASSIVE gain, and can be hard to control in a live environment.
5. some whacky noises can be got with one of these and anything you plug in : http://www.deviever.com/fx/bit-legend-of-fuzz/
6. being in an 'originals' band, means you rarely get gigs, but still practise most evenings. try it, it's mindbending.
7. nipple-clamps and gas-mask. + last-weeks girlfriend's pants. who, in their right mind, would wear anything else ?
8. oh yes. friend of my band-mate did their original vidz (pre-fame). stunning bass. exactly what it doesn't say on the tin.
9. ooh, this explains things better than i can be arsed to type, http://basschat.co.uk/topic/185019-line-selectorblend-type-pedal/
10. sorry, i'm a bit late back on this one,.. but yes, the ls-2 will allow you to blend however much of any effect you want with your clean signal. it can be used as a two-channel mixer. e.g. bass>ls-2 loop A (clean signal) loop B (small clone) >output to amp, mix the relative volumes of channels A&B to your taste. there are of course, other pedals available to do this (wounded paw blender and others), but the boss is probably the cheapest and most readily available option from the used market. i have a spare kicking around that i would be most happy to lend you to try out if you fancy covering the postage. they retail new around £70, and used around £40-£50 depending on condition. mine is a back-up, as i moved to the wounded paw super-blender, as i needed three loops blended rather than two. PM me if you want to try one out. (although i need it back eventually) if i understood your first post correctly, it should fit the bill.
11. Boss LS-2 is the cheapest option.
12. simply one of the best pedals ever. would love to have more foot-control like Shep's custom-job, but nevertheless, it is dub/synth madness. victory in a small enclosure.
13.
My band are a very similar idea. We play sort of blink 182/green day style versions of pop classics from the 80's to today. Many only recognisable from the melody and basic chord progression. I play guitar and sing, I can do neither, just basic power chords is really it. We have a basic vocal pa only. The bass player is very basic and has to borrow my amp, he plays a beaten up on five string with the B taken off. Booked every weekend into 2013. Folks love it.
ultimate respect. especially for your bass player !
14. Me first and the Gimme Gimmes
15. the underlying factors are mainly economic, as others have said. one issue that hasn't been raised is that of the beer duty escalator. for the past umpteen years, duty on beer has been raised disproportionately in relation to wine, spirits and cider. added to that, many pubs are owned by pubco's who sell only what is on their list to landlords at an extortionate rate. it's simply cheaper for people to go to the supermarket, where bulk-buying and loss-leading prices stop people from going out and socialising. the escalator was brought in partly to combat binge-drinking, but seems to have resulted in the opposite, as people load up at home and then go out pissed and cause mayhem. another tax on the poor ? undoubtably, otherwise wine would have risen at the same rate. 16. ok, but where can you go from here ? awesome is now a boring term but i use it inadverently. ..carry on the good Lady's work..
17. e-bay is your answer. got £500 for mine about 6 months back from a japanese company, buying and selling them on. imo the korg G5 was, and is a better synth pedal for bass guitar. but, no-one listens to me, least of all myself. :$
18. meh. move on however you wish. why announce it in the fx forum ?
19. another Bill Laswell fan here. there's nothing quite like some dubbed out bass and John Zorn spewing into a saxaphone. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yS0wgCgFI28&feature=related
20. thanks for the AMTP interview Shep. nice work. pity you missed 'em last thursday, you'd have loved it !
21. and vice-versa ! i'd urge anyone who likes the lp. to catch a live performance. it's even better, incredibly tight and entertaining. i'll read the fx blog now !
22. PM'd for PH-3
23. if it's just the s-bend mode you're using, the footswitch itself acts as the expression pedal (momentary), a very handy feature,
24. the mooer does look great, but sadly lacks exp input. i recently got a Boss PS-6 for pitch shifting and i'm well pleased with it.
