1.
would that be some new kind of pedal from "toilet13electronics"
Shhh.. don't let the secret out.
2. the songs were recorded about three years ago. finally did a promo vid last week. doh. wish we could re-record the tracks now we're tighter (and i've improved x 10) and new tracks abound. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=srs2tnjPSWc
3. i think BC'er Doddy might have one, PM him.
4. both my drummer and guitarist were much bemused when i got a barefaced rig by following this forum. "but it's not an Ampeg, and it weighs nothing, how can it sound as loud a proper rig ?" they cajoled. "f*** you" i replied, as i ran away laughing with both cabs on my own.
5. hi all, Fulltone OCD for sale, £95 posted. was £129 new from HotRox in Notts about 8 months ago. not gigged, top primo condition. i like it and would keep it, but have an FEA dbd arriving soon, so something's gotta give.. it's v.4, boxed, instructions (like they're necessary ..) with free velcro. it'll be on the 'bay in a week or so - i'm not threatening, just sayin'
6. to go that exra step, then maybe.. but what you've achieved/discovered/passed on has major value in itself. carry on..
7. absolutely excellent. thanks for another top interview. why do i need effects ? pah !..
8.
+1 on the FEA Dual Band Distortion... It takes some time to get the hang of how all the features work but once you understand it, you can achieve some really nice tone shaping for overdrive/distortion.
i have one of the new builds winging it's way over right now !!!! can't wait (although i'll be clobbered by hmrc, no doubt). i'll report on it when it arrives.
9. dunno about the chequered one, the casing looks like a Zvex but maybe not. edit : wrong, it's larger than i could see at first glance. can't see a Deep Impact on view - watch those prices plummet ...
10. has there ever been anyone who's posted on the Amps & Cabs forum saying," i have an accoustic bass, why would i want an amp ?"
11. CHRIST, not again !!! can we please have a sticky topic for this-kind-of-thing Shep ??? Pleeeease...
12.
Slapped, sampled and re-played on a keyboard
good to hear. maybe i'm not quite as sh*t as i thought. but i probably am.
13. i always loved that bass-line, but always thought it was slapped ? if not - that makes me feel a whole lot better about never having been able to master it smoothly..
14. this doesn't make sense to me. i'd advise taking the amp to bass merchant and comparing yours against a shop model. i use a Shuttle 12.0 and it's difficult to get anything but clean out of it, and also difficult not to destoy plasterwork. persevere.
15.
Thanks for selling me your M80! I personally use it to add a bit of grit to my main tone (gain minimum, blend at 11 o' clock). I wouldn't really use it as a distortion, but it might just work.
ha ! i'm not dissing the pedal itself, as it is definitely up there with the sans-amp. but neither provided my distortion to a satisfactory level. ( i have a very clean amp ) for the DI capability it's great. nice to hear you're getting better use than i did.
16. personally, i got rid of the m-80 as i didn't like that 'bees-in-a tin' quality. been looking for the perfect one for a while, and thinking of getting a rat-tail. but, having seen the demo of the FEA dual-band-distortion (currently out of stock), i'm holding out for that.
17. ukelele,... porn, .... does not compute. sorry. ..unless you have a photo of Sylvia Saint with it jammed in her ...
18.
Sounds good on the 'ol 6-string to thicken up the bass fuzz I have on it already, but other than that.. just too harsh/digital sounding for me. I've looked on ebay, and I can make at least 5$ of a resell.
that's not a bad thing. if i lose 10 % on a pedal, i just consider it as a 'rental', and chalk it down to experience.
19. ..and i can't afford them. GAS list is growing, wallet is shrinking. Aaaargh.. !!! currently need an FEA Labs Dual band distortion, Iron Ether Xerograph, Fuzzrocious Grey Stache, and some sort of pitch shift with exp control that is smaller than my bedroom. they're just the ones i need. never mind the one's i want. damn those pedal builders !
20. yep. separates. plenty of good amp-heads out there for the taking, particularly now there are plenty of micro's about. plus... if you're likely to be a support act, you may well end up using other people's cabs with your own amp.. so be sure to buy different speaker cables that will accomodate other people's cabs. (i.e. neutrik>jack, xlr, neutrik) that way you won't get caught short.
21. mmm.. i'm currently trying to sell my whammy to fund more necessary purchases (for the stuff i'm doing at the moment), but will want pitch shifting stuff at some stage in the future. (probably Eventide) i looked on ebay to see what kind of price Whammy's are going for, and note that the original ones (not mine - the WH-1) are trading at around the £400 mark !!! seriously, wtf ?
22.
Eventide Pitchfactor swelling up 2 octaves. The effects being used dint change though. Sounds pretty much identical to the +2 oct on the Whammy IV though (I A/B'd them!). It's OC2 - Geiger Counter - (Pitchfactor when I swell up) - Moog ring mod - Moog cluster flux - TC Nova delay.
so .. is the Pitchfactor in a seperate loop or in the main chain ?
