1. that sounds like a boat-load of unrepeatable fun in a box. co-pilot's pedals are like that.
2. should this lot ever make it to these shores, i'll be dancing my nuts off. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AQg-gXL_6DE
3.
Depends. I derive a huge amount of pleasure from playing music, whether on my own at home, in rehearsals, or in front of an audience. The other night I was sight reading on bass, playing along with the track, and I was 'in the zone' to the point where I was hardly thinking about what I was doing, just enjoying listening to the music that was happening. As to being content with the standard of my playing, I am happy that there are plenty of situations where I can step in and play to a standard that will please the band-leader. But I am still striving to improve, and there are specific areas of dissatisfaction that I am working on.
that's all that anyone should wish for.
4. long live the new leader. down with the older one. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=096hnKDw5tc
5. thanks to both of you for commenting, everyone wears different bags. but we all like Bass.
6. good work. brought to mind 'Big Country' and 'New Order' for me. nice interplay too !
7. have a look at the Boss PS-5 or 6 too. i found i preferred mine to my Whammy 4, and being 1/4 of the size made it even better.
8. no answer ? must be getting his ring modulated.
9. inna' old-school-stylee.. another no-budget vid. but the trumpet-player adds the touch. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yR7kbM60nc8
10. Never. but a good gig is when you're not thinking about you.
11. i took a pedaltrain bag full of goodies (already wired-up) as hand-luggage to Dublin in the summer. (i had my pre-concerns.. ) the guitarist took his Line 6 pod-live thing. we both passed our stuff through the x-ray machine consecutively. the (late-fifties-looking) security-guy checking it, looked at me, and said "Old-school, i like that."
12.
The sound I'm after is definitely in the Painkiller back catalogue and elsewhere in his massive discography. It's that "DOD FX25 with every knob turned counter clockwise" sound that I'm seeking. is this possible with the Source Audio? Hearing that track takes me back to being a 17 year old Death Metallist getting his mind BLOWN.
i've got the source audio b.e.f., and while it it is a great pedal, i've never managed to get those deep subs from it. the Iron Ether Xerograph, on the other hand, will get sub-sonic ! maybe the Xerograph Deluxe (envelope filter version) would suit you better ? add an expression pedal and it'll kill it.
13. the very, very, deepest Bill Laswell dub that i know of lies herein, and it sounds to me like a mix of octave down and an LPF (like the IE Xerograph or Moog LPF) the octaver sounds like it's glitching, but still, frickin' awesome.
14.
The Bill Laswell stuff that I know doesn't have the filter sweep that an envelope filter provides. I'd say it's more of a static low pass filter, with the cutoff frequency pretty low. The Moogerfooger MF101 of Iron Ether Xerograph might be worth a look. Or maybe you're referring to Bill Laswell stuff that I'm not familiar with - a link would help
yep. IE Xerograph. edit - there is some envelope filter use on the Praxis stuff, i'll see if i can find an example... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4-TmRVUUBXE&list=PL8C940BFBB53C4CD9 about 2 mins >> , could be Bootsy though ?
15. will your Octavius Squeezer not comply ?
16.
If I remember correctly, SFX are in Wimbledon.
but luckily, Max is not a Womble.
17. this is the one that did it for me : how much blow got smoked to this, i shudder to think.
18. Pungent Effulgent LP all the way !!! i clearly remember hearing it being played in a record shop in P'boro, and plucking up the courage to go to the counter and state "I NEED THIS NOW !!!" i wore out the vinyl copy, so bought another. then i bought the CD a few years later.
19. ^^^ oh yes. highly recommend !
20. i've got Shale GAS. (which means i'll have to dig it out from somewhere, whilst irradiating/erradicating my finances).
21. season's droppings. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BDlRyYXFuUI

23.
Have you ever tried muting a Hot Milf, or Texas wife? Try putting something in their mouth other than a sock, that should do the trick.
shotgun ?
24. the boogie riff is very cool ! can i assume that 'food-fight' is a band-related pun of some sort ?
