1.
... But all that happens this way is that once the band comes in, your fuzz tone disappears under the hi-hat, cymbals and guitar and it sounds like your playing clean. There's a demo on youtube that shows exactly that...
funnily enough, that's what happens with the mxr blowtorch too. pity, as it sounds good on it's own.
2. if cash permits, a Darkglass b3k, or even better, b7k.

11. aswell as sfx, Wounded Paw are worth a look. i got a super-blender after having similar problems with two LS-2's linked up. http://www.woundedpaw.com/effects/

13. MORRISSEY. oh wait, DOHERTY, err , now i'm confused. if i had only one bullet.. i'd line them up accordingly.
14. was going to push the boat out one one myself, but i'd be happier to let an expert do the proper research. ... as you were, soldier.
15.
Right..anyone go last night? If so, which one of you reprebates stole Les' hat!!?? Amazing gig, I cannot comprehend how tight they were and the mix was just spot on..
simply excellent. for a wee moment, i thought les was going to butt out after the hat incident in a spoilt rock star fashion, but he reinstored my faith like a true f***ing bass player !
16.
I wouldnt call the Blowtorch smooth at all. Its a very buzzy, synthy fuzz.
it is synthy, but not really buzzy to my ears, except with a gut load of treble. get's lost awfully quickly in a mix with distorted guitars too. on it's own it can be pleasant enough (blended)..
17. the wobble is achievable by using the LFO setting (speed can be midi-triggered), and controlled with an expression pedal, or get a hot-hand (preferably wireless) for some fun. i wrote down a few basics on the 'backpage menu' in another thread. i'll see if i can find it .. there she lay.. see post# 28 http://basschat.co.u..._1#entry1396566
18. if it's smooth you want, the Blowtorch is ideal, with three band eq. if it's downright dirty, then the Depth Charge is the daddy.
19.
Also it can make a difference where you fret the notes. Further up the neck is preferred, as the harmonic content / overtones make it easier for pedals to track them - certainly true of octave pedals, so might be worth a punt with the SYB3. For example, instead of playing 'C' at 3rd fret on the 'A' string try repositioning this note at 8th fret "E" string and see if that makes a difference. Also, have you tried running into the pedal before the amp instead of the FX loop?
this.
20.
I love the B3K it is absolutely spot on to cover my overdrive duties and definitely is a pedal that won't be changing. Only thing I would have liked would be a more metallic middy distortion on there so I could get rid of the Hypderdrive but that would be changing the character of the sound of the pedal quite a bit.
if you have access to one, try putting the b3k through a boss odb-3 blended. sounds massive, but be careful of extraneous noise/feedback.
21. love MCM too, they were the dog's. from another recent thread on here (westwood's i think), you could try a heavy fuzz sound going into a boss odb-3 (blended of course). you get that metal string sound added on top of bass fuzz. it won't be exact, but you should be able to dial in something similar. i'm liking b3k>depth charge>odb3 for that kind of sound. try it if you have one kicking around.
22. quick experiment : if possible, plug the two into seperate sockets (i.e. try not running them off the same 4-way). any difference ?
23. just tried this. nice. edit. a very little gain goes a very long way.
