1.
Phil, that is a pretty sweet sounding pedal, The hothand seems like a very clever invention.
ta muchly. i fancy one of those hot-hand things too. there's a cool clip on youtube i found the other day whist browsing on TB. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IEdGA-FmENY.
 2.
Great sounds. How is your BEF pro set up for wobble?
cheers Rich. i'll post the settings this evening, when i get back from work it's all about the 'backpage menu', i recommend downloading and printing off the supplementary stuff from the website. 3.
OK. Just plugged mine in (15 mins ago). EXACTLY what I needed. I think! It's gonna take some time to get to grips with this kit. But it is very powerful. Anyone have any settings to share yet?
i got mine a couple of weeks ago, and it is capable of lots of interesting stuff. here's a clip of me attempting some wobble .. (please appreciate it's early days !) 4.
Anyone have interest in hearing the new Dr. Scientist Elements on bass? Let me know.
go for it. your reviews are extremely helpful !
 5. quick clip of me messing with the source audio bef pro with an expression pedal (somewhat over-judiciously ) i'm still getting to grips with it, but hopefully you get the idea. the portamento/fuzz sound comes from the octavius squeezer (trapezoid wave). i had to be gentle with the o.s. as it is prone to glitching. 6.
I think it really depends on what type of music you're playing. If it's general rock/pop then you could probably gig away without any effects, but if you're playing DnB, Dubstep or Breakbeat then effects are a part of the sound. Have a listen to Pantherairsoft's band Our Helical Mind (or go listen to some Miloopa or Nerve) & tell me it's not worth putting a good bass through an effects chain. If you start with a crappy bass sound as a base then all your effects are gonna sound crappy (canny polish a jobby).
all of the above.
 7.
Yeh i am, sorry. I copy and pasted the wrong pedal. They are listed next to each other on the source audio site. Cheers mate, that would be good! Ill edit the post now Look forward to your vid!
err.. i'm afraid it'll be audio only rather than vid, i'd hate to put anyone off their dinner..
 8.
Ive recently started fiddling with effects more and more, and have seen a cool demo of this pedal. Anyone here have experience with one? Is it good for getting the wobble bass sound, or does it need to be played with another pedal? Any info would be appreciated Cheers
you might be thinking of the bass envelope filter pro, rather than the distortion ? if so, then yes it is ! i'll post a clip tomorrow in the relevant thread
 9. dunno about the bumble bee, but i do want that t-shirt, especially if it could do that to moog pedals...
 10.
Yes and no, I have a few tone sucking pedals, but that shouldn't effect it at all. If you have the LS-2 set to A/B mode and listen to the volume of A, then change the setting to A+B mix the volume of channel A should not change unless you turn the volume down, but it does. You can dial B to zero, so in either mode all you should be hearing is A, yet there is a volume/tonal shift between the settings.
Shep, just tried this with mine, and although there was a faint difference, it wasn't much. i'm at a band rehearsal this evening, so i'll try it at volume and see if there is a more appreciable dip in output.
 11. excellent post from Crazykiwi ! i'm getting in to the Octavius Squeezer at the moment, but as stated it takes a while to get what you want out of it. if you're interested i have a Korg G-5 which i could be tempted to part with. the advantage with this unit is that it can be controlled with an expression pedal, unlike many of the others. PM me if you fancy it.
 12. gutted it didn't happen, but according to the facebook page, she's going to try it again in the near future, with a prototype and more info. more time to save up ! i'll update this thread when something happens.
 13. sold pending. sorry about the price confusion, the new layout is slightly different, but i guess i should have put it in my post too..
 14. will happily provide photos. it's an early model (#006), modded by sfx, as the early ones seemed to suffer from a little overall dip in output. cutting down from 5 fuzzes to 4 , so this one is surplus to requirement. £90 posted and now gone.. thanks for looking.
 15. planet waves are similar in nature, but not as pliable or convenient. george l's are definitely the go-to connectors. you get what you pay for and all that.
 16. another option is the Source Audio multiwave bass distortion pro, with 6 user presets and graphic e.q. you can dial in how much drive/clean signal and different e.q. for each preset. pros : it is good value for money, and pairs up nicely with other pedals, and has plenty of variety. cons : the (digital) distortion sound is not for everyone, and personally i grew out of my initial love of it, as it was a bit synthetic for me, but some people rate it. ..perhaps worth watching the demo on their website.
 17. something mellow. a change for me .. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HO1OV5B_JDw
 18. looking forward to hearing it ! having seen the live improv at your last gig, it promises to be belting !!
 19. you have a brewdog pub ?! consider me jealous..
 20. is that the new Whammy ? how much extra use are you getting from it, compared to the older version ? please elaborate..
 21.
Nah, post what you've got now. I can't wait a few weeks! Nice avatars you've had recently. I love a bottle of Brew Dog now and again...
Brew Dog are where it's at ! ok, soundclips will be as early as i can do, when i get around to my mate who has proper facilities for it. my zoom h2 is great for remembering stuff, but not good enough to post ! patience my friend.., ..buy one anyway. they're grrrreat (in the words of tony-the-tiger).
 22. i'm getting some awesome results out of this. i've managed to synch it up with a drum machine via midi, to control the lfo speed and put a fuzz or two in front. soundclips in a coupla weeks, when i get a few more presets sorted.
 23. i had a similar thing when i got my genz shuttle 12.0 so i bought a cheap record bag from amazon for £6.99. fits perfectly.
 24.
They are lots cheaper from the USA shame about the wrong voltage adaptor. I'd snaffle one straight away at the £140 mark but £229 is out of my limited budget. You guys that now have one - what do you think of it ?
it's a great pedal, with a great deal of new functions compared to the standard b.e.f., which i loved anyway, as just the envelope filter section on it's own is worth the price of several individual stompboxes. put a fuzz (or two) in front and it kills. it is going to take me a while to discover all of the possibilities that it can offer, so you'll have to wait for a better report... i get the feeling that 229 was the price in euros ? i think it works out around £185 from Thomann.de
 25.
Am I the only one who saw the thread title & thought of this: (NSFW!)
no... i was going to chime in with the glib comment that i've had 'the horn' in St.albans.. ..very sad, i am.
