1. true. it's a pain, but fx at volume are completely different to home practise levels.
2. fx 'r' fun
3. alternatively you could modify a black & decker* workmate into a multi-tiered pedal-board stand. *other makes are probably available.
4. more awesomeness.
5. hartke vxl is your cheapest option for a pre-shape boost over a wide spectrum. if it's pick-style you want to emulate but played with fingers, than the ehx steel-leather does that job nicely. for added 'girth' another option is the aphex bass x-citer all these pedals have been mentioned already, but all do different things.
6. this pedal is completely stonking. it did hurt my wallet, but oh wow, the overdrive can be as subtle or as huge as you like, over a few different bandwidths. it's a bit like the tech 21 vt, but with far more varied tones. it rips.
7.
The BEF Pro is expected to hit the market in America in mid to late July. There may be a couple of months difference between that date and the European date, depending on our distributors though. We expect them to be available through all the same dealers, including Thomann. I'm happy to answer any questions anyone has about the pedal! Will
hi Will, are you including a standard jack input for expression pedals or is it hot-hand only ? or option © is there to be a hot-hand input / exp pedal jack input adaptor yet to be released ? you know it makes sense.
8.
Despite that it's an envelope not a wah (although I think you can add a pedal if you want), check out the Source Audio bass envelope filter. From the demo vid's it looks seriously awesome! GASing after their distortion pedal atm.
for the money, this is the most versatile envelope filter pedal around. the only issue is that so far it can only be manually swept by the 'hot hand' controller (a wah on a finger-ring-type-thing), although there is the possibility of a foot controller adaptor (or similar) arriving soon. the pro version (due for release in a couple of months) promises ace fun, and i would bet that that will be footswitchable.
9. looks like late July for release. sample page here : http://www.cgraham.com/chris/music/bass/bef_pro/
10. ..and then i bought the legend of fuzz from Huw. fast and communicative throughout. recommended.
11. sounds very very good. and could save me some pedal board estate too. i'm saving up for one.. rodrigo garcia's slap vid is also worth mentioning when it comes to this pedal.
12.
I have never heard of Source audio and now i have i wish i had never. There are so many things i want of it.
you knows it ! they are very innovative and very competitively priced.
13. shuttle 12.0 owner here. it's the dogs' danglies. no reliability issues. jump right in. only slight issue is a crackly volume pot, but i gather it's an easy fix.
14. the upcoming source audio b.e.f. pro looks like it may be a bit of a 'game-changer', as they say. check out the audio clip in post #678 http://www.talkbass.com/forum/f36/source-a...15/index34.html
15. ..and my syb-5. i can only echo the above, very prompt and easy to deal with.
16. perhaps, 'why so many threads about slap' ?.... zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz some like, some don't, some indifferent etc.
17. is there a reason that her face isn't shown ? doesn't resemble Lemmy does she ?
18. in reply to your earlier post Shep, about new discoveries etc.. the 'dubstep wobble' thread on TB is worth a quick read if you haven't already. a few nice soundclips have been up recently. i hope to come and see your gig http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=...p;#entry1244409 on 10th June, and would urge anyone else who can, to do so. it sucks that i have to work the next day, but what the hell, i have to drive anyway. looking forward to it.
19.
I'm sure someone has seen my desire for an expression pedal and an syb 5, i've also currently got: boss odb-3 ehx bass balls (russian) ehx q-tron plus envelope filter (usa) boss ceb-3 i'm currently after an ehx russian big muff as well as the boss synth is there anything else i should be looking for in order to play qemists like stuff as the thread starter was on about, and dubstep wobbles in general?
you can have my syb-5 for £45 posted if you like. i've got too much synthage at the moment, so it's surplus for me. PM me if you fancy it. i'd be looking for an LPF of some description, like the moog or the iron ether xerograph (or the deluxe for extra bucks)..
