1. also thanks @Rasta for the freesound link. unfortunately, i'm only on hotmail at the mo, so i'll look at that when i get a new e-mail address.
2. how about loading the sequences onto a loop pedal or a sequencer/sampler, that can be triggered by the drummer ? all this depends on how intricate your sequences and songs are though..
3.
- Try making drum loops yourself! Seriously... it's actually a fun thing to do and personally speaking taught me a whole bunch of useful stuff about rhythm, which in turn has helped my bass playing.
that's what i'm up to at the moment. i've written some storming electro beats already (well , i think so, anyway ! ) thanks for all the advice guys, you're all saving me a lot of time filtering wheat from chaff.
4.
Yeah its a triple loop with a small adjustment, it has bypass, a/b selector connecting the fuzz to the blogger/chorus switching and c connected to the flanger. It's made by bright onion pedals, the guys cool he has a website and his stuff is really reasonable, he didn't charge me extra for the changes either which is a bonus!
ta, i'll investigate.
5. 40 ain't so bad. i'm 41 on thursday. now that's bad ! i am just starting to get things done though. i guess the timely reminder of 40 serves as a kick up the backside. for my 40th, i went to the strong beer festival in Munich. the wife found me in the hotel bathroom attempting to clean my teeth with the hairdryer. oh well, que sera !
6.
Here's my board, pretty happy with it as it is. You guys should guess what they are so I won't bore you!!
i like the look of that triple loop pedal, i need something similar (although preferably with level controls, like an ls-2). can't see who makes it though ?
7.
What software are you using?
just getting to grips with fruity loops v.4., currently just as a drum machine. i also have a copy of soundforge 6 for editing wavs. i'm a total noob at this, so progress is slow, but hey.. thanks all.. edit: ooh that KJ Sawka stuff sounds good.
8. thanks for the replies so far, i'll investigate. the more, the merrier, so anymore that people have good experience with, please chip in. ta.
9. nicely. ta.
10. i know this isn't fx related, but if any of you dnb/dubstep fans can help me, i would be most grateful.. http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=127044&hl=
11. o.k., i'm finally getting round to using my pc to create tracks, and need to get hold of some good source material for drum loops. problem is, there's so much stuff out there, i don't know where to start. i'm mainly looking for hip-hop, breakbeats, electro, and d'n'b loops, but a few classic led-zep type monsters too. anyone got any current favourite cd's/downloads to recommend ? (nothing too expensive please). thanks.
12. nothing fancy, just solid as funk.
13. ouch, that's lovely.
14. great looking collection. me jealous. help me lottery.
15. bought Jaspers zoom H2. transaction was smooth, and Jasper kept me well informed throughout. also sent it to my work address for my convenience. he's a good egg.

17.
good on her. Kudos.
..Ditto
18. good on her. Kudos.
19. Cool to deal with, and very prompt.
20. Genz Benz also seriously worth considering. very clean sounding and powerful (if that's what you're after)
Given I'm about to liberate some funds by selling a bass, I thought I'd use some of it to replace my aging, and incredibly heavy, H&K Bassbase 600 with one of the newer lightweight amps. Buget is a not terribly firm £650, with less money being spent the better. The amp has to cater for pretty much most musical styles: from heavy rock through to disco. So far I'm considering: Orange Bass Terror (Probably not as it's a bit monotonastic (hurrah! I've invented a word)) GALLIEN KRUEGER MB500 MARKBASS LITTLE MARK III SWR HEADLITE ASHDOWN LITTLE GIANT 1000 AGUILAR TONE HAMMER SC500 I don't think I want to change my cab (Aguilar 4x10). Obviously, I'm going to try before I buy. But before even that, does anyone have anything good (or bad) to say about the above? Are there any others I should be considering?
21. has this sold ? definitely interested.
22. you'd have to pay me not to blow your ears off.
