1.

excellent. i wish they never split.
2. is jeff berlin famous ? and why is 'famous' interesting ? x-factor dicks are famous. doesn't mean they're worthy of discussion.
3. oldie but a goodie, crank it up..
4. there is only one 4x4. (rally cars excepted) it's a landrover. all the others are chelsea tractors for ponces. the bmw and porsche ones make me physically ill. p.s. don't get me started on range-rover-blinghead-scum-f***ers..
5. did a part-trade with Basstronaut. he was a total pleasure to deal with, and 100% reliable. i would highly recommend him
6. on this.. i've fallen in love with the source audio bass envelope filter. especially in 'down' mode. octave and fuzz then bef = massive fun.
7.
No, no, I realise that the battery has black and red terminals, but does the switch ONLY have 1 x green and 1 x purple wire? Are there only 2 connectors on the switch? Thanks again, DJ (BTW - in another BOSS pedal I took apart to refer to, there IS a black wire which goes from the input socket to the switch!)
yes, only green and purple to switch.
8. yes please.
9.
Got this back from Max today. Perfect. The small boost has worked perfectly. Very happy
he sorted a problem for me recently, and went well beyond the call of duty, by contacting the overseas manufacturer.. sfx will go far.
10. don't panic. i find that there is a massive difference between using fx at home and at volume. speakers being driven hard sound different than the home set-up (obviously). get down the practise room on your own and play at volume. save the settings. then play with everyone else, and tweak. save the settings. it's a matter of repetition and compromise, i'm afraid. a different room will also change your tone, so narrowing down the differences is the best you can do.
11.
The black wire which runs between the switch and the input socket, where does it join the switch? Does the switch have 2 terminals, one with a purple wire and one with a green? If so, where does the black wire fit in? Thank you! DJ
ha ! my bad... the black and red are not connected to the FS. they are the wires to the 9v battery terminal (housed within the FS enclosure). sorry for the confusion..
12. o.k., i'm a big fan of that MCM stuff too. i'm trying to get a similar sound. i found the bddi too lacking in the mids for the proper 'clank'. (for my bass*), so the hartke vxl works better (for me*) that, blended with a fuzz and/or synth will make an unholy mess in your underwear, given the correct cabs. * other options available..
13.
Top stuff, thank you again for these photos! Any chance you could post some of the sockets and switch and their respective wiring as well please? That would be fantastic, thank you! DJ BTW - I'll certainly ask the customer if he fancies an extra socket for the exp pedal, cos now would be the best time to do it eh?
it is very difficult to get photos inside the upper casing. i have no camera skills. give me a coupla days.. i'm now really interested in what you can do with this, as my syb-5 is currently redundant. many other people have bought this pedal on the strength of the demo, but have been left disappointed by the resulting tracking / latency issues. if you can do something interesting with this project, i want to know..
14.
That is SO helpful, thank you VERY much man!! I will likely have a question or 2 yet, but I'll get onto wiring this tomorrow and see what happens! Thanks again, DJ
no probs.. although this pedal is capable of some fantastic sounds, i think it needs an expression pedal to get the best out of it. so maybe think about building in the exp input to the guitar aswell ! (if you hadn't already), these are the blue and yellow cables in the pics.
15. fire away with any Q's.. OUTPUT A - white wire INPUT - brown and longer black to board, also shorter black to FS FOOTSWITCH - purple & longer green to board, shorter black to INPUT red to board
16.
That looks an interesting pedal that may do what i need. My amp is at our studio at the mo so i am unable to try this (silly Q coming) - when using the effects send and return does the main signal to the bass amp remain on or does it automatically switch off? I'm using a Orange Terror Bass amp.
probably best not to use the send and return on your amp, it's best just used for rack effects rather than pedals. time-based effects are o.k., but anything with gain stages is not advised.
17. ..what Rasta said. ???
18.

crez, you are a bad man. weirdly funny though.
19.
Some kind of clay pigeon event?
yeh, hopefully we can tie down a load of fat tory shotgun-wielding nobheads and feed them to i-castles cats.
20. just received the source audio bass envelope filter today. i've been told to turn it off now, after 4 hours or so.. this thing is a monster of a filter (or lots of different filters). stick an octave and fuzz in front of it and it's f***ing bootyfull. it retains bass, unlike other filters i've tried, and even enhances it in some settings, so beware. a compressor at the end might be an idea if you venture into its' lower territories. i recommend thoroughly. the programmable version will be most welcome. thanks wil (itswac) and team SA. edit: ooh, it'll do dubstep-like noises in the down position with a good octave pedal
21. i think you should buy my Tech-21 Red Ripper. http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=...p;hl=red+ripper you know you want its' massive saw or filthy bass .
22.
... in meaningful spa
predictive text ?
23. don't know if this is still about, might be worth enquiring. http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=82429&st=0
