1.
I emailed Moog earlier and they just replied.. Basically they informed me that the Diago supplies work with the red tips but hiss like a bastard. Apparently any multipower system will do the same. The only ones that keep them quiet are those with isolated power outputs, or to use a virtual battery for each. They recommend using separate power supplies over any system... Those which have isolated outputs are far more expensive than I'm happy to pay.
oh well, at least you can mount a few 4-ways on that u.v. board of yours and still make use of its' inherent sexiness ! edit: too many double-entendres already, i'm off...
  2.
Trouble is that you can't see the socket arrangement from there, and the Rick-O-Sound was a big selling point. Have you got any pictures of the underside?
i get the feeling that was something to do with a pick-up line.
  3.
Your not wrong! I'd read somewhere that Moogerfoogers didn't like sharing power supplies (like line6 ToneCore stuff) but I can no longer find that webpage and this seems to imply otherwise!
Shep, i was wrong after all, scroll through the list, you had that correct ! (although, you may be able to do just the 3 moogs from one powerstation?) i'm confused, e-mail them, they're excellent at consumer service. PM sent.. 4.
Hmmmm the red one might in theory... Anyone have an experience of doing this with a Moogerfooger? Shep
it's just that they have a picture of a moog in their diagram that made me draw that conclusion the blue one is a jack, so i was wrong about that.. http://www.diago.co.uk/pedal-power/pedal-p...structions.html i use mine with a mb compressore 12v, mxr blowtorch (18v with adaptor) and a bunch of other pedals and it never seems to mind anything. magic little boxes.
  5. can't you daisy-chain the diago and use red adaptors for the moog or blue (longer barrel) ? or have i got that wrong ? if 1 powerstation won't do the lot, then two might be the way forward..they don't seem to mind a mix of 9 & 12v imo.. with the exception of the 24-v pedal.
  6.
I ended up deleting 26 posts! No porn on this one but lost of puffer jackets from a chinese site masquerading as an american ski clothing outlet.
that must have really piste you off.
  7. looks great Shep, i'm not sure whwther to dribble or wobble..
  8. the least offensive necro track i could post. some of his stuff makes eminem sound like the archbishop of canterbury.
  9.
Right. That's you and Doddy on my list of people to track down and insert into 8x10 cabs...
..that might be the only way i'll ever have the time and willpower to learn how to read music. (assuming we'd both fit in the same cab)
  10.
So you needed a s(h)elf help book
fixed - to the wall. it needed brackets.
  11.
Hello! bottomendian grassed you all up asking about me... Thought I'd quickly check in and say hi, my bassiness is kind of on hold at the min after both my band and lessons went balls up for totally random reasons. I'm not fulltime at work in a really stressful job, and currently battling generalised anxiety disorder and bad panic attacks. Other than that life's peachy I keep meaning to come back and say hi but I've been feeling sh*te recently so haven't been doing much of anything other than work! I will be back soon when I'm feeling more 'me'...
hi ! feeling sh*te ? re-join the club !
  12.
Hey guys and girls, It has only just occurred that when improvisation over chord progressions and so on, my improvisation is limited and not really creative in the musical sense. It usually ends up sounding like i'm playing the basic groove with fast, 16th note fills. Does anyone have any methods or tips to help me think more creatively and musically with improvisation. Knowing scales and chord tones is all fine and I can use these techniques quite well but its more the rhythmic element which just goes off on one. thanks alot in advance anyway
try thinking in terms of playing a different instrument, or singing a harmony, or lyrics perhaps. what would you play with a sax, or a set of congas ? 'sing' the part in your head and then try translating to the strings/fretboard. outside of the box is the place to go..
  13. doesn't this just happen at this time of year anyway ? less disposable income etc... ?
  14.
Best I can do for you mate. I know the old arguments about refinishing, but I'm with you - pointless being so close to the pink when it's too floppy.
a pink ric with an invisible strap on, now that's tidy.
  15. that deep impact is seriously cheap. one went on e-bay for £600 ish a few days ago. i'd buy it as an investment if i had the cash.
  16. how about a 5-string Nada ? or 8 ohm Rien ?
  17. trade you for a bucket of scotch mist (with some cash my way of course).
  18. trawling through the old vinyl selection...

    Mr. Foxen

bought a wah off Oli. he was quick to respond to PMs and sent the pedal out very swiftly, well packaged. i'm happy.
  20.
And hands up how many of you tried two-handed tapping before you tried reading music? I know I did!
fnaar. i only hope you were self-taught...

  22. i'm sure i heard genesis p say 'nice' near the start there. was he the fast shows' jazz-blokes' muse (haircut included) ?
  23.
I too struggle with the concept that a sheet of musical 'language' (ie dots) will contain all the information to miraculously enable the bassist to play the piece with the required feel. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
yes. a map is not the territory. a map is a useful tool. but stare at it for too long and you'll miss the scenery.
  24.
You know you would
..he's positively quavering over the prospect of your crotchet.. but still groovin'
