I would do almost the same as the suggestion above, but I would put the compressor after the filter for two reasons: It will give you more dynamic range going into the filter and of course a broader input envelope means more quack, plus it will take the edge off any sharp resonant peaks coming out of the filter so it will protect any speakers and human ears that happen to become embroiled in your musical procedures.
+1 to that. i notice a bit of a volume drop with my groove regulator, so if you have a compressor that can boost (surely most do ?) then this can compensate. win, win.

Would there be customs duties to pay on repair returns?
phil.i.stein replied to molan's topic in General Discussion
i'm presuming it's something (relatively) expensive, if shipping it to the U.S. is the best option. so, therefore some sort of recorded delivery will be involved. if you can retain evidence of delivery to the U.S., and send the repairers a copy of that evidence, then they can return it with whatever goods you ship. (and include details of the value of parts replaced for duty purposes). why not check it out with hmrc first ? they probably have to deal with this scenario often (albeit on a more commercial basis). edit : if you do contact hmrc and get a favourable answer, it goes without saying to get the name of the person you dealt with etc.. -
welcome. you may wish to alter the title surely Finland is not that bad. although it might explain why you lot like black metal so much..
My first board! just got the PT2 and EHM Memory man with hazarai from my good lady for my birthday!! Great stuff!! Looking at getting a Pitchblack, and maybe swapping out the blowtorch for something else....but not sure.....definitely got the bug!!! Also thinking about th EHX Freeze. Using the velcro from the PT2 at the moment, and seems all good - nothing seems to move!! So the order: Weeping Demon>VT Bass Deluxe>Blowtorch>TC Nova Modulator>Ehx Memory Man with hazarai....all goes to a shuttle 9 and a coupla barefaced cabs. Love it!!
all looks good. and boy do you really crank the bass up full on that blowtorch ? that must sound mental. -
When you guys are at home practising, do you use the same settings when playing live? just change the output volume?
gain / volume structure - yes. e.q. ( o.k. so technically e.q. is gain ) - unfortunately, no. all rooms are different. tinkering is often required. it helps to have a long lead. of course that's mainly due to the fact we play quite a loud backline.
I agree with this indeed, but still probably best to keep it private anyway because we don't want to come up on google if someone shoots the Pope or something, it may attract unwanted attention. Fixed now, as you were ped
double fix
I don't really want to sell this but it's my only 'spare' source of cash and I've got my eye on a particular bass. The cab is only about two months old with very light use. Never thrashed, infact still running in. It also comes with a roqsolid cover. I'm sure you know the deal on these, CRAZY light and even crazier loud. A very nice cab indeed. New the midget T is £500. This one is as new and with a cover so I'm gonna say £450. Collection preferred if at all possible but if it's a total deal breaker then I'll post if I must but it'll have to be at my convenience as the wifes having an operation so I'm very much on Dad duty (no the other kit or kid ain't for sale Bank transfer please or cash or paypal gift.
o.k. cab withdrawn, noted,, but can you enlighten me to what's under that gb 9.0. ? attached/or not to the cab ?
As new & never gigged .. incl. power supply but no longer have box. Only selling due to funding new amp so no trades unless you've a nice micro amp (see my other post) http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=107895&hl= http://www.ovnilab.com/reviews/markbass.shtml
recommend. you won't find a better compressor. and neither will i.

i personally prefer the m-80 sound, and am currently 'in the market' for one. my sansamp bddi seemed too scooped and i found that my sound got lost behind everything. if you don't need a d.i. maybe the catalinbread sft might be more up your street.
Apologies for the poor picture. This is what ive thrown together at the moment after downsizing my pt-pro. I had an Aguilar Octamizer and an Agro on there, but they just didnt work for me. The Octamizer cant track a thing (might be my active bass?) and glitches all over the place, and the Agro completely gets lost in the mix and takes all the oomph out of the bass. I dont use octave that much, so im using the one on the M9 instead if i need it, and im using the MXR for my overdrive/distortion. Not sure on the Groove Regulator or Noise Box either. Theyre partly there to fill the space and give me an option, but I dont know how much i'll use them. Dont know if im happy with this board.
tidy set-up. some great pedals. not sure about your take on the octamizer though. i use one with my mm sterling and it sounds great. i do crank the bass e.q. and knock back the mids and high, though, as this helps it track better. also playing evenly near the neck seems to work. stick a decent fuzz/distortion after it and some great noises ensue. i'm after one of those m-80's. my sansamp bddi seemed to lose my tone in the mix. my groove regulator is proving a challenge at the moment. i'm going to try sticking it at the front of chain instead of the end. it doesn't seem to like too much dirt. -
i'm definitely getting one for my guitar player.
