I've a GB Shuttle 3.0-10 Combo (bought from this site), which is great. I've also the Shuttle 2-10 Extension Cab (also via BC), which I'll be gigging for the first time this weekend. Now, the combo balances nicely on top of the cab, but if I want to detach the head and use it just with the 2x10, because the carrying handle is on top of the speaker, the head won't lie flat. It's unlikely to slip or fall on its own, but doesn't look great and could easily be knocked. Other than putting the head on a nearby table or something, does anyone have any suggestions / tips? I had a look on the GB site but couldn't see any gadgets that may solve this. Cheers Len
you could always try my cheapo option : http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=...mp;#entry695295

i've had a few lessons with doctor_of_the_bass (Nick Smith) on here. i know he's a BC'er, but he has (and has had) a vast collection of basses in his time. he's one of the nicest, funkiest, most unassuming people i've ever met. he's based in peterborough, but travels around to lots of music shops, so you never know, a hook-up could be arranged. try PM'ing him if you don't get any better suggestions. -
being as this thread is around again, i thought i'd stick in a shameless plug on behalf of our drummer spike, who's currently touring with Crass, as they perform their stuff for the last time ever. he's had quite a year, playing for Killing Joke in China, then the New York Dolls a couple of weeks later. hopefully it'll all be done soon, as i'm getting bored practising on my own... here's some recent footage, they're quite a bit tighter than i remember from my teenage years
Pretty much summed it up. The Blowtorch is a great fuzz pedal, going from a vintage buzz to full blown synthyness. I haven't even collected this from the post office yet but I can't afford to keep it (I had one a while ago but had to sell it for the same reason.) I'm not after trades unless its for something really special but I'm a little bored of effects nowadays. Fifty of your English pounds plus postage (about £5). Delivered 1st class asap. Payment by paypal or bank transfer. Thanks for looking. (I'll get pics after I collect it tomorrow.)
wow ! that is stupidly cheap for this pedal. if i didn't have one already i'd be all over that like a bad suit.
Thanks for the advice guys =] I have been looking at a Zoom are they any good?
zoom>digitech imho
-
I have never really used effects before in my playing but I wana start experimenting and iv noticed you have a choice between effects boards or pedal board I was just wondering which is better (and cheapest), the effects board or pedal boards nothing massive or anything. Also if anyone have any suggestions of particular models to look for mainly would be a massive help. Thanks.
i'm presuming you're talking about multi-fx as opposed to individual pedals..? start with a cheapo multi-fx (digitech/zoom etc..). learn what effects you like and can be part of your sound. then buy stompboxes and 'tweak' them to suit. you'll buy loads and have a great time trying them out. eventually you'll probably get fed up with the infinite possibilities.. ..and end up with a high end multi-fx. i recommend having a good read of the 'post your pedal-board' thread. ..you're embarking on a big journey, or maybe opening a can of worms..
Well it'll be used in a studio and needs to be very good. But if it produces a lot of noise I may just cut my losses and not buy any of them. Does anyone know of a noiseless compressor?
in that case, you've hit the nail on the head. buy the markbass. trust me.

welcome. you must be good if you play in a jamiroquai tribute ! do you wear a silly hat ?
I'm new to the whole effects thing, so don't really know
ok, i just re-read this, and thought again.. if you're new to effects & particularly compressors, this may be too advanced (absolutely no disrespect intended) it is almost studio-quality with regard to the amount of control you can achieve. if that's what you're after, then i'm not sure it can be bettered (in a pedal format) but for a 'squeezed' sound, it might be worth trying out some more basic comps before you take the plunge.
Is the "Compressore" supposed to be what the italians call it or something?
i presume so, they also do a distortore ! maybe the mbss should be the super-synthetti.

from bass perspective : SLAB! from pervspective : the corrs. -
I'm interested in a compressor and this one seems to be pretty decent (I'm new to the whole effects thing, so don't really know) But yeah, does this pedal have any unwanted noise like a hissing etc. The last time I tried an effects unit was a Behringer V-amp (possibly) and it was shocking the amount of noise that came off it, sort of put me off them all together!
barely any noise unless you really crank the gain, and what little noise does occur is not intrusive. great pedal. it's a tad large, but mine stays on all the time, so can sit on top of the amp if board/floor space is limited.

Dear Learner: It happens to me, the Yi is not answering your question but pointing events to come in your own life (only you can know for sure if this is indeed true) The very good thing is from 42:3 indicates that with some work on your part, you will experience Increase. The former reading 42:2,3,5 = 26 Well, well how nice 42:2 usually means money and its not from any effort on your part. 42:3 has already been discussed, and 42:5 indicates peace, prosperity and a wonderfully kind heart. I think this influence is so strong in your aura right now the Yi is not answering. Try this - if you really want a answer to that relationship question, meditate and center yourself and do some sort of ritual before you inquire. -
