1. i've posted this previously, good demo here.
 2.
if i can find one cheap enough secondhand i will be bang on it! But out of interest, what are the cheaper options?
sorry, time for bed said zebedee ! check this out. http://www.ovnilab.com/
 3. there are cheaper options, but this one is for life rather than just x-mas. http://www.dv247.com/studio-equipment/mark...ts-pedal--64093
 4. man alive, listen to it now.. ...telecaster heaven.
 5. nice fat warmed compressed tone.. as mentioned, mainly from the desk, input also important..fingerstyle jazz or even telecaster bass ? edit .. doh ! yep, jazz, didn't read your post thoroughly, sorry..
 6. after wanting to play punk / metal at speed without a plectrum, i thought i should try three fingers. for a while it was very tricky to get the notes to sound consistent, but finally after much practise it is paying off. i never thought that i could manage 'violent and funky' by the infectious grooves, but i can now do a passable version. stick with it, and as mentioned previously, 'relax !'. - try and breathe and play 'un'conciously, if that makes sense... nothing great is achieved without solid effort, and the ability to switch off the self-conscious button.
 7. found this on tb, thought it was a good way of comparing, without downloading a bunch of individual soundlips. i like the mod on the GR, might consider getting this done, ....Max ? edit : mod - wise apparently the GR2 does this..
 8. i have the same cab set-up. out of interest, are you going to be getting another cab for extra bottom-end, or just relying on those beautifully gnarly tones from the t-midget ?
 9.
That was my initial guess, but the Hohners don't have that angled heel. Hard to tell from the bad pictures, but the bridge doesn't look right for a Steinberger either (AFAIK): the tuning knobs seem to be offset from the line of the string/saddle, and there isn't that large flat area where the Steinberger stamp goes. It's all a mystery.
on closer inspection, you're spot on... a mystery indeed !
 10.
Vile, but slightly intriguing... I'm just trying to figure out where all the bits might have come from. Control plate from a Ray-copy, pup from a Precision-a-like, body hewn from a dining table with a rusty spoon... but the neck? The angled heel makes me think Ibanez or similar, but they'd have to have hacked the headstock off. I just have sincere doubts that the person who made that body has the requisite skill to fashion a neck from scratch.
my guess would be a hohner jack bass or cricket bat, steinberger bridge too ?
 11. the body of that bass looks like it should have a stuffed animal head mounted on it. perhaps that dog ?
 12.
My band have started doing a mash up which I am confident noone else does. We call it Sharona's Toxic Love Shack! Its the My Sharona riff played as an intro then we keep the rhythm going to the chord progression of Toxic by Ms Spears as well as the lyrics....stay with me... then we sing the chorus of LoveShack by the B-52's to the rhythm of Toxic as the chorus. We go back into the Toxic/Sharona verse and we include the LoveShack break-down. in the middle. We always get a great response but that could be more to do with people recognising the song among our set of self penned tunes We also did a mean cover of Carol of the Bells at a christmas gig last year with 4 part vocal harmony and it sounded chilling - that was added to the end of one of our own tunes and made for quite the set finisher! If you're in Edinburgh tomorrow night you can come hear Sharona's Toxic Love Shack in the wee red bar@ the Art College along with some other awesome tunes
sounds awesome. i would love to hear that , get it you-tubed !...
 13. ..yeh come to think about it, i much prefer watching japanese guys in dresses slappin' one out.. [youtube...errr..maybe not..
 14. no jokes about pulling off g-strings please, that would be way below the belt..
 15. man these things are great. i have one already, otherwise i'd be in there like a ferret on heat.
 16.
The Chameleons
A1 !!! + edit : live is probably better.
 17. i particularly like the cream 4-string. mainly because it seems to have 5.
 18.
Can anyone help this overloaded fools mind?
hi, try a PM to pantherairsoft. he seems to have it sussed. 19.
Thanks peeps. I like the look of that ebay boss pedal, although I tend to stay away from boss stuff.... I'm kinda lookin for something a bit special, or at least something very musical. Blunt but musical. That's the kind of gear I like. Stuff that's impossible to make sound bad. To put it another way - idiot proof EQ!
thinking outside the box here.. you might consider the multiwave distortion pro. yes it is a distortion pedal, but also does clean boost with graphic e.q. the e.q. is 7-band, like the boss, but only +-12db. even if you don't end up using any of the distortion sounds (and i mean distortion in the loosest sense of the word, as it is very digitally-processed sounding) - you could store 6 different user e.q.pre-shapes.. which kind of validates the price leap (around £180). 20.
Seing that you're all talking about amp construction quality and durability i would like to ask if anyone knows anything about Genz Benz construction quality, the Shuttle series to be more acurate. I'm waiting for my new 9.0 to arrive in a couple of weeks and want to know if i have to keep my ears up for a possible amp problem. I don't fancy spending a lot of money in gear to end up with a faulty piece of s**t! Thats why i've already had 3 Trace Elliot amps (and i'll be keeping one) with absolutely no problem with any of them and all built with top components Thanks
hi, i have had a shuttle 12.0. for a year or so now. it's amazing. no problems with any of the build quality. i run it with a bf compact & t-midget, it sounds massive, i can't get it over 3 0'clock without the practice room humming like an earthquake, and the head isn't even getting warm i once thought i had a cut-out problem, but it was me not pushing the power lead in securely enough, (doh !). hopefully you will buy one from a dealer over here, in which case you'll get a warranty too, although probably unnecessary. so fret not
 21.
hi all, my name is Steve and I am a bass bluffer [ failed rhythm guitarist, ] playing bass in a couple of gigging bands; Fruit Machine and All Stars Dub Band [ aka Dub in the Pub ] based in Malvern, Worcs. I am the wrong side of 40 and a scruffy hippy trouble maker. see you later.
nice intro. we share much in common ('cept the bands and location). welcome.
 22.
Hello peeps, Has anyone had a play with a supersynth pedal? was thinking of getting one but would like some advice... thanks
http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=44555&st=80 some of this may help..
 23.
Sorry if I've missed this earlier on, but... please explain the heavily modded Crybaby! TC Polytune: I'm sure it's a great tuner and everything, and I'm sure we'll be seeing it on a lot of boards, but... well... no offence intended... it's a really ugly m*****f***er, ain't it? The "bulge" around the display is just unsightly, and it kind of reminds me of...
and .. ?
 24.
What happened to your Blowtorch?
or can a pedal change it's spots... anagramamamagram.
 25.
If you left the head, legs and tail on she'd just think it had swallowed your amp!
although the tuna might not fit. boom boom..
