1.
Tune! Really like that..
its interactive !, play with the mix..on your mouse ha ! p.s. two windows required..
 2. the shatner effect for real!!
 3. slight tangent, but how about punk/metal rockin' tunes with no bass at all ?!! these two are amazing to see live..
 4.
How well does a Big One handle massive fuzz? I haven't read about that..
the internet is your friend..
 5. thanks for your replies, particularly on the compression front..i may have to re-try,re-think my pre-conceptions.. most of the stuff i play is punk/hardcore but also bass-heavy. i've always used the compressor to even out my inconsistent fingerstyle or to get a funk slap tone, but now i think i might be brave enough to try your ideas..thanks guys. oh my newest purchase is the Aguilar Octamiser. it is amazing. i was hoping to hear Markbass's octaver, but it never appeared as far as i know.. keep em coming..
 6.
Only need one. Roland V-Bass.
wow. you are probably right, that sounds like an awesome bit of kit ! :
 7.
That's exactly what i'm trying to get in my pedalboard: Tuner (korg pitchblack) -> Octave (MXR) -> Valve DRIVE (MB Distorsore but still searching) -> Fuzz (pickle pie B ) -> Auto-wah (3leaf audio) -> Fuzz in the 3leaf internal loop (EHX BBM) -> Synth (EHX Bass Microsynth or Akai Deep Impact if i could score one ) -> Compressor (EBS) Just missing the pickle pie and the microsynth!
now this is interesting, you seem to like the compressor at the end of the signal. .. i like it at the start, but maybe the compression at the end is another requirement..how did you find that option better ? please give me your knowledge ..
 8. thanks for all of your replies.. i realise that '8' was a silly no./restriction. so the number isn't impmortant as such.. just the simple 'trimmed' pedalboard idea was what i had in mind.. i'm trying to get a pedaltrain jr. to a good arrangement, & so far i have : MB Compressore>Aguilar Octamizer>3 Leaf G.R.>EHX Bass Muff>Source Audio Pro-Bass Distortion>Sans-Amp BDDI>AMP i only have the sans amp for a di signal, and i think that that will change, as it seems to limit some of the tones available from my set-up (the sans amp bddi makes it sound 'cold'?), any suggestions as to pedal sequence and to a better boost/di would be wellcome .. also better alternatives to my current boxes ? I have a MM sterling Piezo H, so strong e.q. & signal etc.... thanks for your patience..
 9. err, i guess i might have been one of the first owners. it is absoloutly awesome. it can and will cut through anything. try it..! edit .. i play in a punk /hardcore band with two loud guitarists. i have a compact for bottom end and the t'midget for mids/top. unbelievably powerful and stupidly light. trust me, IT'S WORTH A FREEdemo try it for funk and especially slap ! you can't get clearer tone for less cash.
 10.
The common denominator seems to be the tuner and power supply to it.
try a new power supply/plug socket..
 11. i love to sleep with common people like you,
 12. inna desert-island-disc-stylee.. you have eight pedals (stompboxes) to choose from (money no object) rules : only 8 ! . (signal splits included) what will your chain look like ?
 13.
Well, I talked to a local repair shop, and they said it sounds like a problem with the earth. I took it in to the shop, and it didn't make the noise, and they say that they have a good earth in their shop. Tried again at home and it does. So I tried it in a different room, on a different circuit in the house, and the noise is much, much quieter. Still there though.
mmm.. i have this pedal (and a genz-benz amp).. it has a tendency to create freaky noises, and therein lies the beauty.. now feel free to laugh, but, i had actually thought i was hallucinating someone else singing in the house whilst i was playing !! try rolling off the high initial gain (on the amp) and top-end e.q. settings, as they tend to warp/exagerrate the foldback distortion frequencies... it might just be that 'feedback' glitch noise.?
 14. i have the sterling h piezo (and love it). as mentioned the controls are : volume, blend, treble, middle, bass. the active circuit is very powerful, and the piezo is great for slap, and apparently also for achieving a double bass type sound, if played near the neck. if you haven't seen this demo before, it will give you an idea, even if it is a sterling rather than a stingray.
 15. can't remember the bassists name, (and i think some of it was synthesized/sequenced too), but the album 'Aliens ate my Buick' by Thomas Dolby was fantastic for pop/funk bass. look it up.. here's a cool track from it.
 16.
Although I am interested in trying out the 3 Leaf Audio Groove Regulator.
i got mine a few weeks ago, and it is fantastic. I've never used the Emma pedal, so i can't compare. but it is much better suited to my bass/taste/ear than my EHX Q-tron. I find the Q-tron too 'honky/middley' for me (sorry about naff description). although other people swear by them.. this may be down to my active mm streling though... the 3-leaf seems to be more adaptable to the output, if that makes any sense ?... the EBS one seems to get good reviews too..
 17. Markbass Compressore. it allows control over all of the parameters, and so can be as subtle or as crunched as you like. completely noiseless too !
 18. http://www.sourceaudio.net/videos/post/sou...istortion-demo/ it is very synthy, but mixed/eq'd correctly it sounds amazing in a band set-up. ..the options are almost limitless.
 19. awesome as usual...! you're a one man band !
 20.
I haven't played live in about 2 years but this should be a good 'un! Would be nice if some fellow local BCers could come down to support us on our first outing. Click my sig for myspace link.
wish i could see it !! have a good one. i had my first gig for a long time a few weeks ago. the fingers didn't want to work for the first 5 mins due to nerves, but after that i loved it. (shame the audience didn't ! ) i know i'll be on your mailing list when you're down sarf, so i look forward to it ! good luck !!
 21.
Damn right.
that's a beauty. and Linus' avatar (as usual !! ) bumper
 22.
Regardless of genre, maybe the true innovators? We haven't really touched on the rock/metal/thrash/alternative/punk world.
musically, they tend to be bands rather than individuals, where the result is greater than the sum of the parts.. but lyrically,(in the genres metioned above),Matt Johnson,Steve Dray, Jello Biafra, Henry Rollins, Gibby Haynes, H.R.,Greg Graffin. etc..
 23.
this is turning into a (who do i like best) thread, which i guess is the point of the term genius..each has there own.. there is a defining term though..
true.., but most of your other suggestions were groups of people rather than individuals, and as for shakin' stevens, well you must know something i don't.
 24.
Stevie Wonder Prince
indie/metal/punk - Dave Grohl (i'm not a major fan , but you have to admit, he can DIY) electronica - amon tobin, squarepusher
