2.
Lost half of my right thumb in a bike accident
ouch ! luckily for you, that part of the thumb won't matter (unless you like that sexy thing).. carry on playing bass man !!
3. this could well be a huge leap forward... it's not a distortion pedal, it's that and part synth ('specially with the graphic / blend) . i might have to learn how to use an expression pedal. 11/10 ! sorry thisnameistaken.. no proper review from me...i wouldn't think my view would be that important. and i guarantee it would take a long time to fully get all possibilities from it, especially hooked up alongside other pedals...this thing is insane..! absolutely best value for money (and i have bought a few recently).
4. would an fx pedal not help ? a suitable overdrive/distortion perhaps ?
5.
I like the sound of Orange or Ampeg... a bit out of my price range though. Cheaper alternatives?
used.
6. I went to see Marduk and Anaal Nathrakh recently. They both used the Orange Amps, with a mix of Orange and Ampeg cabs. The sound was really full and meaty. perfect bottom end to compliment the ear-shredding guitars and drums.
7. excellent shenanigans !!
8. I'm a gardener with the longest grass in the county..
9.
lol...what with the huge holes in it?
holy crap ! nice one...
10. I just received my Source Audio Multiwave Bass Distortion Pro (phew, what a mouthful). it has a huge range of distortion possibilities, from very synthy fuzzes (even a kind of autowah) to gnarly distortions. an onboard graphic tweaks the effected sound, which can be mixed with clean signal. 6 user presets are switchable. oh man, it's going to take months to discover what this thing is capable of. it sounds really good with my groove regulator too. when i eventually get a good octave pedal i'll have some awesome synth tones available. massively recommended !! great value, and thomanns are cool to deal with, they text you when dispatched and all that.. if you are curious, here's the official demo http://www.sourceaudio.net/videos/post/sou...istortion-demo/
11. ..see, you're all still here !
12.
no one notices i'm playing a bongo anymore
welcome to Glee club !
13. seeing as no-one notices a bass-player anyway, wtf ? if it sounds good, play it !
14. all of the above. i love it. although i'm awaiting a source audio bass distortion pro. so my muff could be on the market! (fnarr fnarr)
15.
Sorry if I upset you by not blindly accepting your "the design facilitates good technique blah blah" nonsense and instead making you look a bit daft. I'll shut up and let you rabbit on in future, it's not like anyone was listening.
Q. you just packed up smoking ? A>yes>good man, carry on.i understand. B>no>you're just miserable. i am too, but please try not to piss on everyones' parade.
16. my addiction is on and off.. although i do admit to trawling skank's posts, dude is genius.
17.
Each to their own, I'm not going to sit through elevator jazz just because the bass player is good.
no need. >>2min like Duarte stated. isn't technology brilllliant ???
18.
He really is quite something isn't he!? Love him, he da man.
i was wondering how long it would take for that clip to get on this thread !
19.
I stopped watching when he started doing that scat vocal thing that ALL bassists simply HAVE to do when they solo these days. And yes he did look stupid but that was more the stupid vocal than the stupid bass.
more fool you.. there's great playing after that scat stuff..
20.

great playing.(even if it is upside down !) i like the look of the bongo, and the tone(s). next on my list !!
21. isn't that a 12.0 ? sorry to be pedantic, but worth the BUMP ! great amp... oh wait, my mistake, didn't know they did a 6.0. Max, soz !
22. much of the time i do the "whistle in the head" sh*t. other times i wake in the middle of the night with a tune in my sad little brain. (they are invariably my best numbers) i have bought a digital dictaphone thing for just this reason. !!
23.
Arf That said a little slapping every now and then does you good +1 blg time. just need to convince my drummer that 166 bpm was his idea, not mine ..that was a joke btw..
24.
I may end up doing that, but only in personal practice cos it would annoy my bands while I made the transition
you'll piss off everyone if you learn to slap ..
25. there's this bloke who i first saw in peterborough. his bass playing is magnificent. http://www.myspace.com/elephantvsleopard
