1.
My "Main"-Board:
ooh ! B3k & FEA dbd ! me too, although currently i'm running mine the opposite way round to that. still can't decide which i like best. so many options...

5. ah. curious to hear the results. i love my standard xero. i use a moog ep2 with mine, but seem to suffer problems with it occasionally. any ideas on what alternatives i should look at ? i'm starting to use an expression pedal more and more now in my 'other' band, and want something really durable and compatible with the xero.
6. ok, it's '70's or even better a bit more energetic, like the '80's Defunkt version : good luck with trying to play that like Kim Clarke...
7. what's happened to the custom xerograph ? me no see yet ..
8.
I win - I claim my £5
why has someone tippexed the price onto the fretboard ? they've gone and ruined it now.
9.
Here's another one, with which you should seek immediate psychiatric help, if you like it in any way...
have you got a recommended psychiatrist's phone number for me ? that rocks compared to the original.
10.
terrible curtains
which ones ?
11. i'm well surprised no-one's done a post of that cock-bass thing yet. photo not attached.
12. i know, but believe me the darkglass is the best i've heard. i'm still going to try that ODB mod though (although i'll be sending it to someone who knows wtf they're doing)
13.
My experience was the absolute opposite of this. I found the Blowtorch to sound pretty uninspiring on its own but the EQ and blend controls made it easy to find a niche in a guitar-heavy mix where you could still be heard. I ditched it because it was 18v.
you didn't find it too 'smooth' ? i find it to be not brutal enough, but that may be just the type of sound i'm after.
14.
Bugger. I bought the Mastotron whilst also looking at the Blowtorch. From the sounds of that, I got the wrong one to combine. How essential is the blend? Is the risk that the Mastotron will simply "muddy" whatever goes before it, unless you can blend?
unfortunately, although the blowtorch is a great pedal, it's sound struggles to cut through guitars imo., but sounds great on it's own. never tried OD directly into mastotron, i've always blended it, but may give it a go later. but yes, i suspect the resulting sound won't be as versatile as can be achieved with a blend. an LS-2 is cheap though, and always worth having one.
15. i'm a happy b3k user. but, i saw this a while back, and think i'll do this to my old ODB-3 after listening to the clips. trust me. 16. overdrive for sure ! Darkglass B3k all the way for my taste. although the mastotron has no blend, so either a blender or a separate blendable fuzz would be what you'll require.
17. good work !
18. Doug Wimbish / Will Calhoun
19. Hartke VXL is a good cheap versatile tone-shaper. if it's phatness you want, the Aphex bass x-citer is worth a punt (a used one, as the new ones are too expensive imo.)
20. he's certainly made the right choice of overdrive for metal/punk. Darkglass is the dog's ! then he 'models' that sound for ease of use in a live situation. very shrewd , i like that idea. - although this has me thinking ... if you model a sound like that, do you still retain the ability to 'dig in' with more overdrive, like you do with the pedal, or is the sound 'fixed' in terms of volume/expression iykwim ? i.e. does the modelled sound 'respond' to your trigger in the same way as the pedal ?
21. everything that converts your body's movement into a musical signal is an 'effect' aswell as an instrument. and effects are musical instruments in themselves.
22.
*posts video of a drummer at the wrong gig* *posts video of a cross-dressing Korean bass player*
i take it that this is old news ? very bad of me not to read every thread on here. i'll go and cry in the corner.

24. another option if you can get one is a Korg G5, and a suitable volume pedal. also the Iron Ether xerograph with some fuzz in front of it gets some nice synthy tones.
25. on the jazz tip. kind of a Dirty Harry groove. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TD7HPZHD0p0&feature=relmfu
