1. I believe that DSR's (distance selling regs) only apply to UK sourced 'buy-it-now' items.....maybe Citizens advice could confirm/clarify/help. The Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000 generally apply to sales to consumers made by sellers acting in the course of a business, which have been made at a distance. In other words, where there's no face-to-face contact between the seller and the consumer before the contract is made. The Distance Selling Regulations apply to items purchased via Buy It Now listings and Second Chance Offers on eBay.co.uk. However, they don't apply to auction-style listings on eBay.co.uk. These regulations provide a period of 7 working days after the date of receipt within which the consumer can cancel the contract (often referred to as the "cooling off" period) and get their money back, including the original postage and packing charges. The consumer may be asked to return the goods at their own expense, but only if the seller informed them of this requirement before the contract was made (otherwise, the seller is responsible for collecting the goods). This right of cancellation does not apply to:

Custom made goods - Goods which are tailored to your own specifications (such as custom-made wedding gown).
Goods that by reason of their nature cannot be returned – This covers medication for example.
Perishable goods - like fresh foods or flowers.
Sealed items, which have been unsealed - audio or video recordings or computer software that you have unsealed.
Newspapers, periodicals or magazines
Accommodation, transport, catering or leisure services - where the seller has agreed to supply the service on a set date or within a set time period (for example hotel accommodation; plane, train, or concert tickets; car hire; tickets to sporting events).
The regulations above only apply to a business seller – consumer buyer transactions. However, even a consumer seller is required to ensure that correctly describe the item.
2. Hi guys, great doc' on Queen last night, wow what a song cataloge they have. Anyway, I had to have a noodle on another one bites the dust...all the sheet music I've seen for this has it in E minor, but noodling along it sounds closer to F minor to my poor ears....any ideas or is it just my ears? Maybe E 'n a bit minor? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CWsJcg-g1pg cheers guys
3.
They've been around for quite a while now and there's a 4th model too - the limited run sunburst with blocks and binding. I've never played one, but I know the weights vary from approx. 7.5 lbs to 9.5 lbs because I called a shop in Sheffield who had a few in and they weighed them all for me.
I'm guessing the Basswood 3TS would be the lightest, with the Maple being the heaviest, by a long chalk.....sunburst and blocks sounds great too.
4. http://www.gak.co.uk/en/squier-vintage-modified-jazz-bass-3-tone-sunburst-rosewood/44242 nice looking tool
5. I've just come across an ad' for the the VMJ in 3TS, tort PG and basswood body....I've never heard of these before? I loved my old 2010 VMJ maple body, but didn't enjoy the weight of that old boat anchor ...the £230'ish price sounds nice too! I knew there were two flavours, but not 3?
6. Ok, I heard my mate try and sing this acapella stylie at our half time break at the pub quiz night and thought, I'll have a go on that! (1st number single using Pro-Tools recording technique, ooh!) .... the normal bassline is all roots and 5ths but quite tricky timing, well for me it is, but if you play the melody it's a great bit of a work out and simply good fun to play. here's the piano line I used as for the bass, it's in C# minor, enjoy!....E major relative! and to noodle along too Enrique himself http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vwIupEr9ryM
7. Bb614 and eb3 are very different animals indeed, the yamaha is a great bass and very versatile....active p/j. I haven't too many glowing reviews of the epi?
8. Rough rule of thumb when importing yank cars - I own a stingray at the moment - what you pay in dollars is what you pay in pound notes once everthing been paid for, should be the same for guitars. Customs are no idiots, takes a few seconds to Google values!
9. I'm wondering if yamaha RBX-4A2's may find favor in the future, certainly different from a few aspects, but I've yet to see any old yamaha make big money?
10.
The early made in India ones are the best, made in the same place as the Sunn Mustang basses and American Squiers. I changed the pickups in mine for Fenders and it's great!
An american Squier? I think its hard to find a crap new bass nowadays, it seems the CNC machine tool should be hailed from on high. It appears that the old bass guard suffered some real old tot' back in the 70/80's
11. Would it be so wrong as to name the member....just in case this isn't a one off, and/or the member has other gear for sale. If it all gets sorted out, great and a highlighted post of some kind to explain....if the guy is a thief.....
12. Aria SB-R60....looked lush, dull as can be...nothing wrong with it but so disappointing. Worst one I played...OLP 4 string, really very bad, I can see why Ernie pulled the plug.
13. Cheers guys
14. I've been asked if I can ship my MIMP to the US, got a price from parcelforce of 100 quid, can anyone recommend another courier? Cheers guys
15. Another vote for yamaha bb414/424/614
16. "The usual thing of paying for a name" You gots to earn that name in the 1st place though! Try some trace gear, I'm still amazed at my combo's build quality and sound
17. Ahh, Louis, just been going over get on the floor again, thought i was doing well then i find Louis is playing 3 notes at once on the first G....G with G octave and the 3rd's octave being B on the G string! ....amazing fingers...n' thumbs!
18. Great thread, I now have a great excuse for bum notes.... "oops, for a moment I was in New age V Romantic age tuning" and.......are studio pianos always in tune? Really? Mine would change daily, but it was only a tenner!
19. I was thinking the same myself, some lovely stuff up for grabs at the moment, low end to high end...hmmm
20. A smoooooooooth 'n creamey P buuump
I meant three the same . These are my two beauties
Tom, have you spotted the difference between those other two and a std one like mine/yours?
22. Amazing to think I paid 15 quid in 1986 for The The Soul Mining on vinyl! I struggle to see where the big money is made in music nowadays?
23. The mark is about on front body face, approx' 1" directly up from the bridge cover, it's really quite hard to notice unless one is close and looking for it. PS, to restate, thanks for the calls, PM's, txts of kind & very reasonable (tempting !) offers of trades, but I'm only interested in straight sale cheers guys
