1. why the link to Fender causing their demise?
2. 'mono-bassist'...that must of made me a 'poly-bassist'.....I'm puzzled, I didn't think you could have just the one William-No-Mates bass? ....actually it would be ohh so easy if one could be happy with just the one bass, but bass's are just soooo addictive...if only I'd known when I had a play on that 1st Yamaha RBX-374....one play 'n your in my grasp! Do guitarists have the same issues?

5. Dingwall seem to make a lot of purple bass's, no idea why? Google their images. great choice of colour by the way!
6. In my quest to find some info on aria igb68 I've learnt that aria's starter jazz bass STB-JB has a precision neck on a jazz body...sounds like a good thing to me. I had a quick Google but nothing OE leapt out, most had different pup arrangements to a std jazz? Must be something by fender or Squier?

9. A friend has been offered one of these Aria bass's & has asked my advice, I know very little about Aria's, can anyone help? Asking price is £120 It's called a Pro II IGB-68/4....I think that makes it an Integra series? ....it's not this actual one pictured but the very same model, had a quick gander on the web & it has quite a nice spec', maybe more a slapper with that rear active H pup, series/para' switch & 3EQ! any help very welcome
10. ..crikey charlie, when we had this chat in the pub we came to the conclusion you couldn't have a decent band without a decent bass player...it's so fundemental to the sound...seems we were wrong
11. As macca said the powers in the bass! Just got back from the local after having this crap shoot. Shoved into a dark corner, no ones knows ya name, bass guitars for failed guitarists....but I really can't think of a super band, decent band, fave rave call it what you will with a poor bass player. Even those with players that most can't name....for example REM, good example, ask anyone who isnt into bass. Surely there must be a duffer out there dragged and carried by his bandmates?
12.
Well, definitely don't seem to be getting on with the Sandberg strings, they seem to feel incredibly elastic, and sound pretty dull for stainless roundwounds (particularly noticeable on the E and B strings. Think I'll stick a set of Rotos on tonight. Not terribly impressed that the battery in it was dead too, but I guess these are pretty minor things in the grand scheme of things: a small hassle for such a supremely awesome bass!
I'm guessing that bass was a fair sized wedge and they can't be arsed to fit a decent battery in it, I'd be erm, displeased, its the small things that matter!
13. So what is the iPad you bought like?
14. Featherlight?

17.
WHAT WAS THAT "RICK"? and yes I know I'm shouting!!!!
I thought it was only me who noticed that, must have left his bass at home (stolen?) luckily, someone had a '[s]Tokai[/s] Rockinbetter' kicking around Had a noodle on Come On Feel The Noize last night....another "I never knew what a busy bassline it was" song..cracking bassline
18. After watching that slap bass lesson'ete I've signed up, cheers Scott
19. A sort of light bulb moment came on today, it's not dazzling but a sort of a dull glow....I need someone to turn the wick up for me and answer a couple of questions to see if I really understand what I think I understand: I need to outline the following first.... 1st off, I wish I'd started noodling lines with walking basslines when I first started playing around with these bass's, it's starting to make a lot more sense now, little nuggets of theory make more sense. I've been sitting here this afternoon playing a bit of Frank Sinatra, Fly Me to The Moon in A minor (C major) and this has got to be for me, one of the best and clever walking basslines I've come across thus far, because of the lack of 'off key' leading notes only the use of the occasional Gb, Bb and Ab to join things up. I've also realised, well I sort of knew, that the modes have equivilent chords over a key, or you could say, what mode to play over which type of chord that occur in a harmonised key; chord is major, play ionion over it chord is minor play aeolian over it chord is diminished play locrian over it chord is M7 (dominant) play mixolydian over it chord is major 7th play ionian over it But after the above my 'theory' of modes over chords seems to run into a brick wall, if there is more? Q/ So after all this, if you are still with me, are there common chords that interact well with the remaining modes of phrygian, dorian, lydian? Are there any other rules of thumb, no pun intended Q/ What mode would one play over a sus chord (sus4) for example, it's not major or minor as it's 3rd is sharp? Q/ What mode would one play over an aug chord (augmented 5th) ....I would play lydian over a diminished as I said before. Or maybe I'm adding 2 and 2 and making 5? any help, advice most welcome thanks in advance
20. Some stunning colours on that website
21. All mine set very low, but I have very soft style. 1st fret gap measured using feeler gauge under string .5 mm...nut set up 8th fret gap .3mm for relief 17th fret under 2mm for string height All this and no fret buzz, but I do like a little clankyness 3 to 4mm string height....that's stratospheric!
22. Cheers guys, some real crackers there! ....franks fly me to the moon...It's 'our' song, how did I forget that gem? .... glad the wife doesn't read basschat!....best practice that one....
23. Cheers guys, Thomas'...I've never used this brand, may give them a go
