Ionian = think Ionian Aeolian = think Aeolian Mixolydian = think Mixolydian Phyrigian = think Phrygian Dorian = think Dorian Lydian = think Lydian Locrian = think Locrian or, alternatively Ionian = think Major Aeolian = think Major a minor third tone above Mixolydian = think Major a fourth below or fifth above Phyrigian = think Major a major third below Dorian = think Major a whole tone below Lydian = think Major a fourth above or a fifth below Locrian = think Major a semi tone higher
uh, what I wrote didn't come across, my fault, it's more how the modes 'sound' I was trying to get at...so I can think how/where/when I might hear them? -

I got some, but some are missing and would like comments are to if this list is generally OK? Ionian = think major Aeolian = think natural minor Mixolydian = think blues Phrygian = think egyption...or spanish flamenco Dorian = think....? Lydian = think....? Locrian = think...?

...you know I thought that too....? -
Uber-Showman par Excellance without doubt, but I'm sure (well maybe I dreamt it!) I read that Rick was a multi-instrument player and played bass amoung keyboards, guitar, drums....Rick' and Stingray chosen weapons I think? ....but this is some technique.....sort of a cross between a 50's thumb style with quick finger playing too... ....there is another bass player on stage too.... PS I thought he was great on the A Team!

wow, cool toy...and to think I would struggle with a 5 string....
They all have necks based more or less on the "baseball bat" style late 60s P's and Telebasses. I wanted one of those for AGES, but kept missing out on them, they have a single out put, no scallops, a cut down working mans version of the Attitude! So think BB414 but bigger, considerably bigger! If you've played one of the squire Tele basses or 60s P-basses its kind of like that in feel, If its in good nick £200 sounds like a great price! I'd rather one of those over a Fender P any day! (well, most days!) I think Dosi on here had one?
the neck on my Telebass is my favorite neck....
-
Seafoam green Attitude Specials.....I don't much about them but I think they lack the scallops of the dearer models, anyone played one, and whats a slightly cosmetically challanged one worth a punt for....£200..I don't know? What are the necks like....jazz bass or more a BB414? looks similar to this one....black/black P pups, white woofer pup....plain white pickguard cheers guys

£10 and 6 days to go! I paid £13 for new one with PnP! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Fender-jazz-bass-F-b...=item1c1b407970 .....if this thing makes over £20 I'm gonna buy a shed load and bury them out in the garden so they can aquire that certain 'sonic patina'......money in the bank sir

Saw the Church Fitters last night, fantastic band, but the star for me was the bassist a french guy called Boris Lebret, amazingly good player and builds his own basses! His latest sqeeze is made from a Mercedes Benz hubcap with..well to be honest I'm sure how many strings....I thought I counted 7 (!) arranged in 'pairs'....but could be my eyes...? ....anyway gentlemen, that bass tone was simply achingly good, sublime, made me fill up with joy....haven't got a clue what amp he was running, all I could see was an hessian covered box.....made me want to build one those hubcap basses! The bass was set up like a telebass with big front mounted humbucker, body was, well the hubcap and wooden neck. "Boris Lebret (France) Boris's unique collection of instruments is as remarkable as his bass playing! He has made himself a double bass out of recycled bits and pieces including a saucepan and has invented a six string 'frying pan' bass banjo and even a bass thumb piano made from hacksaw blades! He combines all this with his selection of home-made percussion instruments to create hot rhythms for the band."

my Ernie Balls are £15 a set of 4 posted...try fleabay!
-
oohh, nice, thanks for that! ...is this some sort of 50's size neck?
-
my Squier TB has a neck that fits me like a glove....but nothing else I have seen has a neck like it with these dimensions...9.5" rad with a 40.6 nut... ....are there any other bass's with a similar neck....the TB is sort of a '51 looking bass..although I'm sure you all know what they are...wasn't there a 50's Sting looky likey bass like this?
My old band supported them donkeys years ago - he was one of the first people I ever saw using a six string bass (Warwick Thumb as I recall). Good player.
your old band wasn't Perfect Vision by any chance?
-
I always wondered who played bass for these guys, even posted a thread some months back and no one knew! great playing, that fretless on Christian makes me fill up, sublime...
