i owned a black one & have to say it was a really nice bass, the only downside for me was the preamp-i just couldn't get "that" sound from it,but i am a fussy old blues fart. i should think it will excel in a rock/punk type of band, but they do look cool don't they.

that Jazz is beautiful

my band have supported 9 Below Zero 3 times & really enjoyed it. Gerry was a top bloke on all occasions but i have to say that on those same 3 occasions that Dennis was a total arrogant prick. shame really as my brother/guitarist used to be a fan-but alas no longer.

i just bought Clarky's ( & my old) 2007 Jazz bass. chuffed to bits with the bass it's a minter just as Clarky said it was. really nice guy to deal with & very fast(i.e. next day)delivery. all in all Clarky is a top bloke, hell i'd even trust him with my wifes chastity belt key Neil.
I took delivery of an all black Shuker J Bass just before Christmas and it rocks! The best Jazz bass I've ever played, plus it's to my specs too. I'm hoping to get some nice pictures of it soon, at the moment I never seem to be out of the office during daylight which makes photography difficult. Sorry though, not up for swapping... Cheers, Eude
sounds like a beaut, get some photos up please to keep my GAS fueled.
I thought the exact same thing. When i saw it on the background i was amazed and then when i saw it was for sale, it was nearly too much. If i wasn't having one custom made i would have snapped it up the second it came on the site, personally i think you should do me a favor and buy it
oh it's very tempting--i've got an empty visa card telling me the same thing. the wife'd kill me though.

'All original'. What does it actually mean....?
artisan replied to Beedster's topic in General Discussion
So, for arguments sake, if a 1970 Fender is built entirely from components bought from 20 different sellers on ebay, and all of those parts are 100% verifiable as authentic and original Fender components from 1970, and given that the combination of neck, body and hardware on any one bass was likely a matter of chance at the Fender factory in 1970 (pauses for breath)......, is there an argument to say that the 1970 bitsa Fender in question is, to all but the most anally retentive purist, original? Chris
for me thats a big no it's not an "original" it's just a bitsa- & as such i wouldn't pay a whole lot for it. -

Fender '51 Re Issue Precision Bass **SOLD**
The only reason I don't have a Precision is I don't like the size of the neck. I prefer the thin/narrow Jazz neck, especially the 62 Jap reissue neck. I am sloppy and like to damp over the top of the neck with my thumb. Oddly, with guitars I prefer thick baseball bat necks like on Les Pauls, SG specials or 50s type Telecasters. ??
then of course there is the american deluxe P bass with its halfway house nut width = 1.625" which is sublime & the CIJ '51 P bass has exaxtly the same nut width too.
