I couldn't agree more - the Barefaced, despite being a great cab, is now up for sale - the amp too, although I guess I could keep the amp as a back up if it doesn't sell.

Hi All, In my continued cull of gear to raise funds for a nice, new to me (old) Jazz Bass, I'm parting with my Akai Deep Impact SB1 pedal. I'd like to achieve what I paid for it £475. We all know what these are about , it's boxed, has original power supply and user manual and is in very good condition. In the interest of full disclosure, the only very minor niggle is that the red LED "on" light has a bit of a habit, very intermittently, not lighting up or flickering to indicate that the pedal is engaged. It was like it when I bought it and hasn't bothered me as I use it one loop of my Wounded Paw V3 blender. So here's a few pics to whet the appetite:

Wow! Played my first gig last night with a pair of DB112's I acquired in a trade - absolutely amazing, I'm really pleased with them. I was initially a tad concerned by their stage presence (or lack thereof) and whether I'd be able to hear myself on stage, but as soon as we soundchecked I knew I was going to be very happy with them. Huge amount of low end thump and mids/highs were nice and clear/tight - all the boys in the band were hugely complimentary of my new acquistion and a couple of mates who play in another band were suitably impressed. The nice thing about the amp & cabs IMO is that everything can be heard clearly without the need for excessive volume - although the band do like my sound to be quite loud/high in the general mix. I did have a concern about the weight before hand but having now got them, they're not too heavy and certainly noticeably lighter than the head. One particular bass aside that's currently in the for sale section - I think I may be GAS free for the considerable future! Now do I keep the Barefaced Super 12T & the Mark Bass F1 for smaller gigs/those gigs with awkward & lengthy load-ins, or do I move them on? Hmmm. Cheers for all the feedback guys - appreciated!

No ignorance dude! We're all still learning - my understanding is that the SansAmp BDDI has the DI output so you can send the signal you want to front of house/sound engineer. This VT Bass Pedal is more of a toneshaping pedal and has no DI output - still very highly regarded around these parts though and also a lot cheaper than the BDDI

I'm selling my Mark Bass F1 Head/Rack Ears/Original Box - it's lived it's life in a flightcase so is in 9.5/10 condition - there's a slight scratch on the front facia plate above the EQ controls. I could probably let you have the flightcase for a small fee if you were interested as it's a 2U case, so no use for the Aggie. Alternatively I have a laptop bag that the head fits nicely in - you could have that if interested for a small fee. I was intending to keep this as a back up for my DB750, as it is (IMO) a seriously great little amp (1U), but as I've committed to buy something rather tasty in the Basses FS section, this has to make way for some funds. Photos can be put up if anyone shows an interest. EDIT: I've decided to see if there's any interest in the Head/Rack Tuner/Rack Case as one lot - looking for £500 for the lot. Photo of Amp/Tuner/Rack below, cabs obviously NOT included. Cannot change the trade price at the top

Dorset and Somerset Bass Bash 2014: Post Event Critique
Thor replied to yorks5stringer's topic in Events
I may be able to make it - I cannot commit anymore than that at the moment If I do, I could bring along the Aggie DB750 & DB112 cabs if anyone's interested? [s]& also the BF Super 12T?[/s] Now sold to deaver -
Now I've agreed a trade with my MB cabs for Aggie DB cabs there's no real pressure to sell these, that said, I'll include postage to mainland UK in the prices quoted above to hopefully assist with moving some of these along. the boss tells me I need to de-clutter! Clutter indeed - I just counted the number of shoes she has - staggering!
What I've always heard when talking to other bass players is ' ah he plays a mex'. You know that almost looking down on you thing ...
Lord knows what they think of me then as I've also got two Squiers that I occasionally gig

As said above, quality of Fender Basses can vary hugely, I've played my '73 Jazz (which is lovely) and also played a friends '73 (which has a couple of dead spots on neck and is a pig to play), so IME the thing to do is to definitely try before parting with cash. Interestingly, my '73 weighs in a tad under 8lbs and my mates tips the scales in excess of 8.5lbs? The Mexican Roadworn Jazz is sublime to play - I know there's lots of folk who don't like the whole Roadworn thing, but there's also a lot of love for them around these here parts. New they're a bit pricey but buy one used and you've got a whole lot of bass for very little money. I own a Roadworn Jazz and also own two CIJ Jazzes (Geddy & '62RI), a Custom Shop Jazz, a '92 Jazz Plus V, a '95 Standard USA Jazz, a '74 Vintage Reissue Jazz, a '73 Jazz & a '68 Precision.
