When I learned I always used a pick and these were the ones I preferred, now I 've played fingerstyle for so long that, having joined a classic rock covers band, I'm trying to re-learn how to use a pick - bloody hard getting up to speed again!? I can comfortably play 16ths with fingers but really finding it a struggle with a pick..... Practice, practice, practice I guess.

Had the pleasure of meeting Dave and his good lady over the weekend in order to trade a MM Sterling for a lovely Sadowsky UV70 - an absolute pleasure and really nice to put a face to a name I’ve had many dealings with, even the dogs made us feel welcome😊 Cheers again Dave

I fell out of love with this for quite some time, but just recently (since returning to gigging after lockdown) it’s my go to.

I can relate to this, I started playing bass around 30 years ago, my first bass was a Vox Standard P type bass, I found that it was somewhat limited tonally and soon yearned for a Jazz Bass as one of my mates had one, and I thought it sounded just so cool. I bought my first Jazz in '92, it was a USA Jazz Plus V and I loved it and gigged it solidly for around 12 years or so, that's when I started to buy a few nice basses as surplus money was a little easier - I bought among other things a US P Bass that had a Dimarzio pick up fitted, that's when I first really appreciated a P. Now I've got a superb Sonic Blue AVRI '63 P Bass that is just lovely to play, sits well in the mix and is also nice and light weight. I still like to mix it up when gigging and I do feel lucky to have a number of nice basses to choose from🙂

Does this look like a £2k relic?
Thor replied to Jean-Luc Pickguard's topic in eBay - Weird and Wonderful
Do people really part with their hard earned moolah for that? I’m a fan of a natural relic, anyone that’s seen my Oly White ‘69 Jazz Bass will know how much I love it - but this just seems way over the top and completely unnatural? Not for me I’m afraid. -
