  1. Sheesh ! that's amazing . I did see an early Gibson EB2 in a second hand music shop in Chichester, that has had a 34" scale neck professionally fitted, unusual. Best Wishes, mike
  2. 'Bout 31" scale , I'm in Brighton this Weekend , I can always pop it in the car !
  3. Life can be cruel !
  4. Try googling " Rivnut inserts " , see if they'd do it. I use them a lot , sometimes putting an extra washer underneath. mike.
  5. Yep, were in my jazz bass for few years, 'till I sold it , and put the original pickups back.
  6. It is, indeed.
  7. Another treasure I've unearthed ! This is one of the two early Ampeg 4 X 12 bass cabinets I bought to use with my V4b. The other, earlier , one is so heavy, it's a two man lift, but Ampeg must have seen the light, and changed to this , albeit road ready, version. Still well built, but far lighter than the mk1. The original speakers have been replaced , as they were quite low wattage , with 2 newish, and two secondhand Eminence 12" speakers. There is no grill with this cab, it would originally have had a solid panel on the front , to protect the speakers, that was removed when the cab was to be used. T'was the fashion, st the time ! great for use with a decent valve amp, but fine with tranny stuff, as well. Cash on collection , only, fromWorthing, West Sussex, where the cab can be tried.
  8. ? However, it's at this stage I point out that heaviness is relative ! I've just pulled this lot out, on my own, to photograph it, and get it back inside before the rain started again, and I have a bad back . There is something special about those old W-bin designs.
  9. Now Sold, gentlemen. Thank you for your interest
  10. Another marmite item from my hoard of unusual bass cabs. I bought this, as I wanted the Cerwin Vega speaker chassis for my Acoustic 301 restoration which I have kept. The cab is now fitted with a superb cast JBL 18"speaker, and sounds great. The cab was sold to me as made in the 70's, however, the condition is so good that it's hard to believe , so I make no promises, just say it is as it is. Would be great for a Led Zep, Average White Band, or Steve Marriott tribute band, need the space, so ( peanuts ) £99 collection only from Ferring, near Worthing.
  11. Aerodyne and Guild ,
  12. This is basically an outboard, self contained 18v ( two PP9's ) version of the Aguilar OBP1 bass preamp, often fitted to high end basses. bought it new, yonks ago, only used at home, so pretty unmarked. Still has original box £80 plus postage.
  13. Don't think this was ever used, as I was unwilling to drill into the side of my Jazz bass. This is the 4 control , side Jack fitting, version of the Audere active preamp. Screw connections for pickup leads, however, Jack plug and battery clip need reconnecting. Boxed, connection details are online.£100 plus postage
  14. So here are some pickups I have finally allowed myself to part with , all are used( by me, and previous owners ), mostly bought s/h on basschat over the years. All prices plus postage, unless collected. Top row, 2 pairs of Lace Sensor Precision pickups, £50 per pair ONE PAIR SOLD middle row P/J set from Japanese Bass Collection £50 early, probably 80's Bartolini Quad Jazz Bass pickup set, many wiring options, £90 Nordstrand P/J set, very little use £95 bottom row Set of P/J pickups form a high end Ibanez bass, badged Ibanez, but look identical to Dimarzio, and are great sounding .Bridge pickup wire needs extending £65 set of 8E Bartolini active Precision pickups, with the correctly matching, but passive, bridge pickup.P link needs resoldering £75 pair early ( fixed lead ) EMG Jazz bass active pickups . I love these pickups, just have too many ! £75
  15. Just a bump, to keep the interest going, this looks exciting.
  16. It's not the packing , it's the PIA carriers, just not worth the risk, I'm afraid. However, I did check my friends gig list , JIC, but he's not near you for a quite a time. know anyone gigging down near me ?
  17. That's not being fair, I do need the Rane PE15 ! PM'd
  18. Just bought a couple of pickups off Lee, arrived super quick, very well packed, and as described. Thanks Lee
  19. Thank Goodness I don't know what a lot if those things are, ' cos if I did, I'd probably need them ! GLWS
  20. Thanks, I'm not selling a new one, I'm offering to sell a well aged, kindly reliced one that matches the look and wear/ age of an early 70's one, albeit, was prob manufactured in the 80's . note the difference on the back of my headstock, when I put back the original tuner. Now, as it's been packed away, over the years, it dosen't match, see my point ? no problem if it's not what you want ! Best Wishes. mike.
  21. Hiya, is indeed your old cab , been great ! Actually easier to load into my car than a 4x 10, as I just lay a blanket down, and slide it in . No lifting involved,
  22. Right, you won't run for a bus carrying this combo, but it's in great condition , and it's as cheap as chips ! Took me a while to get used to the Ashdown ABM preamp, when I bought a new one in 2003.( stiill got it ). Problem was , being old school ( OK! Just Old ), I used to boost the bass..............bad mistake ! Took me a while to realise that modern preamps are so powerful, better to maybe cut a little, not bang on the boost ! Then I began to appreciate just how good these amps are . These early ABM amps are fantastic value nowadays, providing you can lift them , or don't need to move them. I last used this amp when I had a "double up "gig, and needed an amp with a good DI, that I could risk leaving at the venue, as I had to rush away to my other gig . DI had to be good, as gig was recorded . Was still there ,when I went back for it ! long way of saying, this is a great sounding, cheap, but heavy combo. If I kept it, I would split our the amp from the cab ( as I have done to others ) , but , apparently, I have too many amps ! collection from Chichester or Worthing, where Combo can be trialed
  23. Yes, I have one on my Roger Giffin bass , helps with Neck droop , too !
