  1. I've just arranged to pick up an old Bass amp, nearby , on that day, so will be popping in. Might bring an old Acoustic 220 rig, if I have room in the car. Mike
  2. Hiya, Could I buy one, please ? Sent message, but not sure if it went, IPad just hung ! Thanks Mike
  3. Hiya, I also have a very early trace pre that is in need of attention. This one is the one with the two separate circuit boards, attached by ribbon cable, strangely, I also have a couple of the early RA500's, and one of them has a bad hum, so any chance of copies of the circuits ? Thanks Mike
  4. Well, I've loaded up the car, few old valve amps, few old tyranny amps, coupla lightweights, plus whatever fitted in, can't wait ! Need to try your cabs with my amps, Nik ! Please add Captain Rumble to your list, see his post, above . Mike
  5. Anyone know if it's worth asking Ashdown to supply me tolex,
  6. No, New stuff. They are being built again, Flea bought a load ! Magic !
  7. Nice 406 rebuild going on in the Repairs section
  8. Having collected my recent " Black Box " ebay purchase, complete with front panel exclaiming "Death and Doom " across the front, hurting my back, as I attempted to load it, single handed, into my car, I swore that I would cut this B........... Up as soon as I got home. After all, I'd only bought it for the 10" speakers ! But, I just had to see if I could get it working. It had obviously been stored for a long time, lots of oxidisation, dirty pots etc, but after a while, I had most of it working. Sounded b......... Marvellous. Unbolted the "Klyston " head, removed the hideous black felt covering, the road ready aluminium strips, the speakers ( nice old celestions ) etc, but instead of chopping up the cab, I decided to cut the top off, and make it into an 8 x 10 speaker cab. Why throw it away, I thought ! Turned my attention to the amp, now I had it out. More cleaning, spider killing etc. tried it with another cab, still sounding good ! Then I noticed the serial number was 0001 04 98, so had a look on the Ashdown website, found an old magazine article with a picture of the same combo, first built to Mark King's spec, called the King combo. Apparently, Mr King had the first one ! I'm not sure how Ashdown's numbering system works, but JIC, does anyone have access to large amounts of Superglue ? While MK has used many amps in his career, Ashdown may not forgive me for putting the axe to his amp , my plan, at the mo, is to rehouse the amp in a head box, using the parts I cut from the top, that are salvageable, and recover the speaker box. Won't be using rat fur, can't stand it. So it will be born again, just not quite the same. Gotta say something for the quality of Ashdown gear. This would have been toured, originally, then possibly played in a Doomer band, then left out in a garage for what looks like years. Didn't take much to get it sounding great, again. Thank you for sharing that with me, somehow, it helps ! Mike
  9. Hi Rumour6, Some good combinations there, I'm going to try my 320 with a 406 when I get a chance, but will use EV's in the cab, or maybe Kappalites , far easier to transport than the 408. The 18". Cerwin Vegas are a problem, I have 1 original working, and 2 to go for re-coneing, will have to check the spec with the re-coner before I let him loose. Thanks for the tip. Hi Discreet.
  10. Up for sale is my unloaded Retro bass cab, probably built in the 70's , in the style of the Electrovoice Eliminator. Very efficient cabs, speaker is backfacing, similar to the big, early, Acoustic Control 301.This is smaller, and takes a 15 inch speaker. The resurrected ACC are ow marketing a similar sized cab , in addition to the reborn 301. A lot of companies built this design, including Orange, who sold it as a Bass cab. The BBC also used the Orange ones on the Radio One Roadshow's.Don't know the brand of this one, it's black, not Orange ! Selling, as I now have a genuine Orange one. cab is in West Sussex Email for pics, can't seem to upload them THanks Mike
  11. No pics, Nigel, go on, you know you want to ! Now I'm trying to put pics of my 370-301 rig, but finding it impossible, anyone any idea's ? Must be some other Acoustic rigs out there !
  12. 320-408 4 x 15 rig , and 220-406 2x15 [attachment=165386:DSCF0592.JPG] [attachment=165387:DSCF0599.JPG] Gotta dig some more, still can't get to my 370-371 rigs, or the 220-402's
  13. Yes, Those original speakers seem to have a sweeter, more pleasant tone, the emi's are quite dry in comparison 'nother go at 361 photo's . Technically, the cab is known as the 301, this is the early version. [attachment=165169:IMG_0054.jpg] [attachment=165205:DSCF0564.JPG] [attachment=165203:DSCF0570.JPG] [attachment=165204:DSCF0577.JPG] [attachment=165175:DSCF0574.JPG] now if I could just turn that top photo around the right way ! More ACOUSTIC Photo's to follow.
  14. Hi Skinner Love the 320-408 setup, and easy to move, as long as there's no stairs ! Last time I used mine, had the volume up to nearly 1 and a half on the dial. Hi Goblin, Yep great amps, the 470, but glad to hear you still have a 120. Hi 4stringthing, Nice rig you have there, the 220;s do punch above their weight. Do you still have the original speakers in your 402, I tried 3015;s in mine for a while, superb, especially outdoors. trying, but can't, upload photos of my 361 restoration, am giving up now, it's been 2 hours. I seem to have used up my photo allowance doing it, but not managed to upload anything ! Strange ! Pity, as the cab needed extensive work, but is looking great now, just waiting for it's new tolex.
  15. Hi Nik, I' m up for it. Might find something old to bring along ! Mike
  16. Yep, still got it, Thanks. 1st pic, one of my 320's
  17. My Son is helping me with this camera thingy ! 1st pic, my V6 Not sure why the pic is soooooo small !
  18. Well, I'm trying to see if there's anybody else out there, who loves this gear as much as I do ! I do have quite a collection now, and as soon as I can get to use my IPhone camera, I'll start putting up pics. In the mean time, anyone got pics of their ACC gear. Mike
  19. Pity you are so far away, you could have tried out my collection of Trace valve amps ! V-type pre VA 350. X 2 V4 combo V4 head V6. My favourite ! Must learn how to use my camera phone, put up some pics Mike
  20. Available free for collection from Worthing, West Sussex. A pair of grey, carpet covered PA or Bass cabs in nice clean condition. Bit of the carpet needs gluing down, and they would look smart with a new grill made for them ,rather than the Mapliny round pressed steel thngs ( that are in my bin, outside !) Not Too heavy, nice plastic corners. If I was going to use them for bass, I'd add , some internal bracing, Anyway, free to collector. Size 19 inch wide, 16 inch deep and 27 inches high Mike
  21. PM'd, ( but not sure if it went off, my computer keeps locking up. Let me know if you got it ! ) Mike
  22. Could you add me to the list please. Hope to bring my Acoustic 320 rig, plus Roger Giffin bass, maybe some other bits, subject to room in the car ! Thanks Mike.
  23. Hiya, I have one of these, they were made by Kasuga, Japan, in the 80's. This one is a re-badged Kasuga Scorpion, Through neck construction, pretty, but lightish build. Toppy sounding, probably better with the optional Dimarzio,
