  1. Prospective purchaser has to promise not to cut cab in half !
  2. Swop leads with the guitarist ! Double Whammy .
  3. Don't forget to take the truss rod into consideration.
  4. Huge amount of HEFT for only 50p a pound , methinks !
  5. I may have overdone it a bit, over the years !
  6. Should’ve mentioned, Dims are 42.5 “ high 26.5 “ wide 18” deep
  7. Another fine old 70’s ACC 406 wide bass cab that needs a new owner to continue the restoration. The hard work, stripping the covering, and removing the glue residue has been done . Cab is unusually light , so if refitted with modern light speakers, would provide a lightweight vintage alternative to its modern counterpart.. Alternatively, I may be able to find a pair of original speakers ( however, I run Faitalpro or Eminence neo’s in my old cabs, when I use them , and tuck the original speakers away ) I have a similar 70’s Ampeg 2x15 neo loaded, if a prospective buyer would like to get a flavour of the possibilities. Also, matching Acoustic 220 available, if required. Just to be clear, this is an empty cab, so trial not possible. Cash on collection only, from Worthing, West Sussex, please.
  8. Up for sale is my, probably late 70’s , Ampeg 8 x 10 speaker cab. The old, worn, covering ( and more importantly, the glue residue) has been carefully removed, and a quick lick of Black Duratex rubbed on so that I could use it. Maybe one day I would have recovered it, but looks fine to me , so not gonna happen. Speakers are fine, sound as they should, couple of small repairs, maybe a ( proper ) replacement , not unusual for an old workhorse . Amp in pic is not for sale. Cash on collection ONLY, from Worthing, West Sussex , where the cab can be trialed.
  9. Great, Thank you, that’s really helpful .
  10. Hi , Thanks, Yes, the other voltages are clearly marked on the Pcb’s, it’s the +/- main rail voltage that eludes me. Apologies if I didn’t make that clear in my post.
  11. Could any technician out there tell me the B+ voltage that the neopak 3.5 power amp operates on. I’ve bought a duff amp ( on purpose , for the case ) but it’s just too well made to break it, simply because the SMPS has blown. HOWEVER , please don’t go poking around inside your own amp, if you aren’t fully trained to do so , very high voltages in there ! thanks, mike
  12. Someone should treat themselves to this for Christmas, before I change my mind !
  13. Hi Jotto Yes , Thanks , I'm well, and yourself ? You've absolutely nailed it, bloody thing almost plays itself, sounds great, and weighs nothing, what was I thinking ? best wishes, mike
  14. HI Sunfish, Apologies for late reply . Circa 8 pounds. However, I've decided it would be a mistake to sell it, so have withdrawn .
  15. Hiya, I cut the 4 x 10 combo down , to make it easier to move, as it was just soooo heavy. Sounded great, though. Easy to make a sleeve for your Peavy head. 2 x 10 combo was the 550 watt ( SPYDER ) Valve front, UK built jobbie. Decent speakers, I just wanted the amp.
  16. I work just the other side of Worthing from you, near the big ASDA store.
  17. Space needed, so.... Ashdown ABM 4 X 10 cab, was a combo, neatly shortened ( see pic of top ). all original speakers. works fine £90 Ashdown 2x10 cab, still a combo, amp removed and replaced with blanking plate £90 Ashdown Mini 15, lightweight cab, I used this with an Eminence 3015, nice and light, sounded great, BUT now fitted with h/d Fane 4 ohm speaker £90 there's also an old SWR 12" bass monitor cab with eminence speaker, but I've often used it for vocals as well £50
  18. Another Acoustic Control Corp Gem for sale. An all original, 50 year old 220/406 rig in stunning condition. Pics tell the story. Collection only from West Sussex, Where it can be tried out.
  19. hiya, that pic is from my other advert. the 12" cab is part of the portaflex range, but is not a flip top cab. the cab in this advert for the PF50T is indeed a flip top cab. I am about to advertise it and the others I have. This one is my favourite, it's the 2 X 10 , but I have fitted 2 Mesa EV speakers, which I love. I have another 2 x 10, and a 1 x 15 , all flip top versions. However, they do not fit the Ampeg valve amps I am selling, without a minor mod to an internal brace. They do , however, take the solid state Portaflex amps. Hence my reasoning to distance the adverts, so as not to cause confusion. Best Wishes, Mike.
