  1. Don't forget the Ashdown 550 spyder ! Simple, and brilliant preamp coupled to the ABM output stage
  2. I have one of those BT15 heads, quite nice sounding, not very loud, but get b....hot in use. No eq buttons. same circuit was used for a combo,SVT15, or SVT75 , I think. they got really hot in use, too.
  3. Absolutely spot on ! Old Acoustic stuff, up to 1980/81, is where the Magic is. Pity you're so far away.
  4. Someone went to an awful lot of trouble to do WHAT !
  5. Hi Bob, Apologies for late reply , not ignoring you ! I'll contact the guy who asked me to hold it, check what the situation is. Best Wishes, mike.
  6. Yep, Thomann were showing stock of these today, So I had to buy one. I do have a 360/361 rig, so will be able to compare ! I also have a 70's V4b, so there's a pattern developing here . Where will this end ?
  7. Well, Just finished populating my turret board, and starting to solder. , However , don't underestimate how long it takes to gather all the various bits you'll need , and the cost. Def makes that trip top look like a good deal !
  8. checked my old trace preamp today and only two of the pins are used, on the xlr input. might be worth checking if yours is the same.
  9. trouble is, I was only looking for my TRACE V8, it's in there ,somewhere !
  10. Not sure what's happened there, with those pics !
  11. just diggin' round !
  12. Just diggin' round !
  13. I sense the need for a B15 shootout at the next basschat bash ! Paging Mr Beedster, I'm sure he could advise on sound, having owned one of the new reissues with the 64/66 options.
  14. re the SB12 circuit. Ah, but there was a later version , using 6l6gc's, however, it doesn't use octal preamp tubes, either. Neither does the B15S in that comparison
  15. Anyway, I blame my spell-checker !😀
  16. Ha, Well , it might be worth looking at the later SB12 circuit, using 6L6's, as that appears to be what you are describing . I often use an SB 12, and they are fabulous sounding, and lighter than my old B15 !
  17. Gotta subscribe to this ! I also caught the bug during lockdown, and my B15 build is coming along nicely. I went for the 64/66 option, and found a build manual on the Trinity amps website that was very helpful. Another source of info was CtG B15. Great project, go for it !
  18. No hurry, It is a difficult time , to say the least , but far better to be safe , than sorry.
  19. Still available. thank you for asking !
  20. Great it got sorted, enjoy .
  21. Collection only, or it would be mine !
  22. Might be a good idea to just take it in stages. 1 ,That VR400 amp is unusual, only has line in, and line out, plus speaker connections. Check that it works by plugging in speaker, and use a pedal ( something like a Sansamp ) to get enough signal from your bass to make sure it works. Never run this amp without speaker connected. 2, The ah600 is a dual channel amp, needs speakers connected to both channels. try it with your bass , as normal. Personally, I would not run that amp without speakers , JIC. 3, Then , when both are working, I would try to link them. My memory of the AH600 is vague ( although I could look at mine tomoz ), but I seem to remember there were various options to get a signal out, DI out, line out and effects loop. take a pic of the back of your amp, let's see what the possibilities are for you. Mind you, if you get all that working, you could play the 02 arena,

In the right circumstances, a well maintained 60's B15 is just such a joy to play. Was never designed to go up against Marshal stacks ! Mine hums a bit , at the 'mo, so I need to check it out, but I use it's little brother, the SB12 at open mikes with acoustic guitars. I have put a deltalite in the cab, so the efficiency helps. Just Magic ! I do have other amps, if I need more volume ! Horses for Courses. And there are modern clones available, if reliability is paramount.
  24. Ok, When you so "on ", do you mean it still made music, (plus the growl ), or just growled ? So there maybe two versions of the B15n, one had a single fuse on the back, apart from the mains fuse, and the other version had 4 fuses ( plus the mains ) . First thing ,when the amp is unplugged , is to check the fuses, if it has the four.
