I shouldn't really say....but let's just say it could have been The Storm Queen in Dumbarton Rd. Very busy when we came in. The Karaoke had kept them going for a few hours but I believe there was a football match on and folk had gathered there to celebrate? Lol No idea. But let's just say there was a fair few well oiled punters holding on to the walls as we brought the gear in. There wasn't any trouble that I seen and the punters seemed to like us. But as I mentioned it wasn't a great set up and folk were far too near the band at times. Yes I know its not all pubs that can afford the space for a stage or raised area but a barrier or rope would have helped. I think it was a cancellation and I took the booking to make the numbers up and to break me in to the band. I think that was my 4th gig. Maybe they should stick to karaoke! Oh and on the way out I had to step over fresh vomit at the front door.......doesn't it smell awfully like parmesan cheese.....boak!!!!!

Decent gig in Glasgow's West End. The pub was packed to the rafters when we entered as the Karaoke finished. We started just after 9pm and the set up was dreadful. We were squashed in a corner beside stairs leading up to a raised area in the bar. I was side on to the band with the drummer right behind me. I ended up doing no backing vocals as I had to give the keyboard player a loan of my mike stand as his fell to bits just before we started. Very mixed age lively bunch dancing and singing along. A fair few were very very refreshed and indeed falling about the place. One guy in particular danced about 6 inches from the singer......a fu**ing pest! In fact it seemed to be the prefered route to the toilets in the raised area so we had a constant stream of folk coming and going all evening which was very off putting.Soundwise was pretty dreadful as we were squashed together. We went down well and have been asked back but I think we need to try a different set up next time in. Pubs with drunk folk.....whatever next!!!!

I was self employed for a number of years. Never ignore any letters from the HMRC. Usually they are fine to deal with but not too interested if times are tough! If you can't pay ....sell your granny! -
I’m struggling to get a good slap sound. Any ideas?

I usually insult the wife...that gets a good slap sound! -
Not sure what you mean. It has a zero fret and the action is low. Maybe a bit too low but I like it that way. I think and not 100%sure its at least 20 years old. Its the old shape/style so whenever they came out and ended will be a clue. I have seriel number but I think I checked it on a Sandberg site and it was in and around 20 years old. You are welcome to come and try it out at some point. I do prefer folk try out the guitar rather than buying it for it's looks....like I did! I have a few more guitars that cover what I need and am currently in love with my Sire V7!

Back up for sale. I had a bit of local interest but to be honest it was mainly trades. So here it is. Sandberg VT4 .Tobaco burst/maple neck. Glockenklang pre amp.Delano neck pickup. The bridge pickup has been replaced is it was faulty. I think its an Ironstone or Tonerider. Plays as good as it looks. 5kg weight. Comes with hard case.Any questions fire away. Will post at buyers risk and cost UK only. Sort out a courier or uplift from Falkirk!

I played with the band that Dave is now in,Emergency Exit. A few years ago we got a gig to suppert The Angelic Upstarts at a venue in Paisley. The backline,PA and sound guy were all provided. It was a very busy night indeed! The only thing we did not get was money! The band had been asked to play a few months before the gig and had agreed to a fee for playing the one hour support slot! About a week before the gig we got told it was just about to be cancelled as the venue had changed owners and the new owners were not able or willing to pay the Angelic Upstarts fee.As a result they managed to work something out with the band and the gig was able to go ahead. The downside was that we were told our fee was out the window. fair enough these things happen. Some of the band including me were happy to sit it out but the singer of our band bless her,was a massive fan of The Upstarts and was on the phone begging us to do the gig ! She is such a sweetheart we agreed to do it. It was an ok gig but we did have a decent wee night and got some pro shots of the band from a photographer! As for The Angelics......I never heard them as I was on my way home up the M8!.

Seeing some folk on other sites saying that there could have been some sort of issue with her IEM feed or backing .Seen a couple of other clips from other venues on You Tube and although it's not perfect it isn't as bad as the Glastonbury vocals....strange!

Maybe he is the MD........

She seems to be having issues with her IEMs...you can see her adjusting the level on the belt pack..

Great band and songs...but I think if Diana was on at the local she would have got her jotters by now....

Macca not perfect but a lot better than some of the sh*t on earlier...legend!!

Usual stuff and been there before. If front of house is decent thats ok but onstage can be a bloody nightmare! It happened to me at the O2 ABC in Glasgow when on a charity bill. The bass amp packed in onstage just before I went on and I had to listen to the bass through the monitor onstage in front of me. Sound like a tin can! It ruined my night I can tell you! At another gig in Paisley I played with a differant band the front of house it seems was great...well according to our singer who was standing on a table outfront!. Onstage I could hardly make out the drums and guitarist across the stage but was deafened by the guitarist next to me! No wonder I am a grumpy bugger!!

Sandberg VT4 old style. Usual German quailty and in great condition for age. I believe going by serial number it's around 20 years old. Tobaco burst finish. Ash body/Maple neck. Neck is straight low action. Good fret condition. Glockenklang pre amp. Active/passive switchable. Weight 5kg. Delano neck pickup.Bridge pickup has been changed. Comes with hard case.Had this about a year now and have gigged it many times. Surplus now as my Sire V7 has taken over!! Can be seen and tried in Falkirk. Would prefer local pickup but can sort something out re posting at buyers expense and risk. Will see how we get on here but may post on e bay at higher price. Thanks for looking any questions just get in touch. I have tried to photograph any marks or blemishes but its in cracking condition for age and plays as good as it looks! Been playing it again and getting second thoughts......bad idea! ...WITHDRAWN -

Back ''in the day'' when I was starting out I did not drive so was able to partake in a few drinkies before, during and after gigs! I managed one time to fall off a stage in to a christmas tree, knock a full try of drinks out of a waitresses hand and was sick all over the side of our van on the way home from a gig. Happy days!!
